Cleaning shower heads and sprinkler type faucets?

What’s your go to cleaning solution or process to clean buildup in those little rubber holes of your showerheads and faucets? I’ve tried vinegar and scrubbing, plus shoving pins to try to dislodge the buildup to no avail. Still get twenty different directions of water.

soak them in straight vinegar for a couple hours to get the mineral and scale buildup off of them. Just scrubbing doesn't do much.
They need to soak so the minerals break down.

I second CLR. Our water is bad limey.

Need an acid like vinegar or Lime Away.

Be sure to rinse well between since acid + base = salt and salts are a part of the deposits you are fighting.
Remember your math? a+b=c, so, c-a=b, or, c-b=a. This is what I am suggesting.
