Big box store returned or scratch and dent appliance deals PSA

There have been a few threads recently about appliances and I wanted to offer that if you’re patient and not tied to a specific brand and model, there are deals to be had.

Of course we had to have the matching suite of appliances in the kitchen per the wife’s specs but I knew we would need a second fridge for the pantry so I kept my eye out every time I went to the local lowes. I got one back in 2019 when we were building, a $3000+ GE 36” stainless French door fridge for about $1200 I think. With manufacturers warranty. One handle has a slightly bent bezel.

I’m building out my garage kitchen and had been keeping an eye out on the appliance area and today I snagged a 36” Frigidaire stainless French door fridge that’s almost identical to the one in our regular kitchen for $850, less than half price. Perfect condition, had just been returned. Everything still taped together inside for shipping. Again, with warranty. I was eyeing some smaller off brand one figuring I’d have to settle for that and ended up with this one for less $.

All that to say if you know you’ll be looking for appliances, just walk through the back aisles of these stores every time you go and you may stumble into a deal.
