House is a corner lot with driveway going straight from side street to garage. Driveway approx. 18’ wide and 27’ in length. If I mounted it on the brick above garage, it would give a nice distance for top of the key three pointers, and add more distance between goal and the street for safety. Another option would be a portable goal on the side, giving more space for wing/corner shots. The wall Mount would be less intrusive, but I’m hesitant to drill into brick.

Any recommendations regarding location to mount it as well as feedback from anyone who has mounted into their brick?

The brick on the exterior of your home is a brick facade, meaning it’s not structural. It will not be able to adequately support a basketball goal.

my kids and i play a lot of basketball and i deeply regret the portable. mainly just because the wind this spring have knocked the thing over so many times that the rim is now an oval.

It should hold as long as you're not dunking on it.

OP I would mount rather than portable every time.

I’m also not sure about the brick over time. May also be limited on adjustability options and depending on how much “baseline” depth you want.

I’d suggest getting an in-ground goal on the side vs the portable. Portable goal is fine, but certainly not the most secure.

who buys a basketball goal and doesn't lower it enough to dunk on it?

I'd rather mount it, but i would be weary of mounting it to a brick wall, unless you know for a fact no one will ever hang on the rim.
