LINK ]MS ARMADILLO TRAP[/link

With this drought, armadillos are seeking out moisture loving grubs, worms.

I bought this based on a prior TD recommendation…it isn’t cheap but I captured 4 armadillos in a week!

Each time you catch one, it “reseasons” the trap with armadillo scent. I had it in the woodline 20 yards from garden and no action first 3 days…put directly in garden and boom…4 in 4 days.

Do Not kill armadillo inside the trap…seems obvious but besides the mess, the trap is heavy (it’s wood) with large armadillo inside, so lifting to remove is a strain.

I opened 1st time thinking I’d shoot slow moving armadillo on way out…wrong! They can run up to 30 mph…so the arc of fire as it circled back to my porch was something straight out of the OK Corral. I had a rotting armadillo under back porch because of said miscalculation!

Finally wised up…after 2nd one doing same balls of fire zigzag out of the gate…

I now use a wire trap I use for raccoons/possumst and place at one end of armadillo trap and then push armadillo out of wood trap into wire one. Easier to transport away from house/garden and dispatch through wire and then dump.

Wife is very happy with the results in garden.

Obvious answer is obvious. Shoot him. Don't get all leprosy'd up.

Whats the best option for filling the holes they made?
I thought just sand but some of them are actually deep and large
Some mix of sand and topsoil maybe?

My Grandma would go out in her garden at night with a hoe and puncture their shell. They will die.

With this drought and a few attempts to water my grass I'm getting one tearing up my yard nightly, too.

I put Bifen down a couple weeks ago. For 2 nights no armadillo but he's been back each night since

Buy "Repels All" granules. I think Lowes carries it. I re add about every 6-7 weeks. It solved my issue with them.
