Anyone have a top notch roofing company they can recommend?

I have a roof that is 9 years old and, unfortunately, needs to be replaced. Unbeknownst to me, my contractor put down Tamco shingles rather than the Timberline ones I chose. I have a spray foam home and had some damage to a few shingles with the many bad weather storms that have come through. I filed a claim on my insurance and after an inspection they found that my shingles are heating up and thermal cracking is occurring. I am guessing, because I have open cell spray foam, the heat isn’t allowed to enter the attic, as it usual does, and the shingles are absorbing the majority of the heat, causing the thermal damage. I am not sure if this is a spray foam issue or just crappy shingles.
My plan is to go with something different. Possibly doing standing seam roof or some sort of a metal shingle. The inspector said my roof is a 96 square roof. I am 53 and want this to be my last roof I place on my home. I want to make sure it’s done right.

Top Team Roofing and Construction went above and beyond during my roof replacement project. Those guys were seriously awesome. Call and ask for Devin and Dion. Coming from someone who seriously despised roofing contractors, they actually gave me a sense of relief that the whole industry isn't crooked.

I am unsure where you are located. If you are in Lafayette, I can recommend Southside Roofing. They did an excellent job for me. It was a shingle roof though, not a standing seam.

Do you have it in writing that you chose the Timberline? DId he charge you for the Timberline or the Tamco? I would investigate that avenue first.

I looked them up and gave them a call. I hope they would travel to the Crowley area.

Unfortunately I don’t. I would have sued him had that been the case. I really don’t have any legal ground to stand on. I initially found this out when my roof was prematurely staining and I got a quote for a roof wash. When I told him I had Timberline shingles, he questioned if I really had what I thought I had because he had never seen Timberline stain that quickly. When he came to do the inspection, that’s when he told me.

I will give them a call. I am just north of Crowley.

I've never heard of Southside Roofing. Their website is down and BBB has multiple complaints. FYI

Wish you were near me. We are very good with insurance claims and have our own roll forming machine and run out our standing seam panels on site. Not to toot my own horn, but we're pretty good

I also looked them up and didn’t like what I saw. I have a guy from Hargrove roofing coming tomorrow to get me a quote. They appear to have some great reviews. I am going to try to get a few quotes if I can.

Those look pretty bad. I had my roof done several years ago. It seems like their website isn't even up anymore. They did a great job on my roof. This may be a good example of why personal recommendations should only be a part of how you decide.
Hope you find a good roofer.

Looks like they funneled a bunch of money somewhere after Ida and Laura and now tucked tail and ran when the problems arose. That fricking sucks. I know several people that used them after Ida.
I hate a fricking scammer taking advantage of people after a disaster. Many people in this area, including me, had never experienced a roof claim and a bunch of people got "took" by good salesman for a shitty company with pretty logo and marketing.

The owner is still in town from what I can tell. He had a heart attack in early 2023 and nearly died. I dealt with him when we got our roof, think it was 2016 or so. I wonder if he is still the guy in charge. He has been in the roofing business in Lafayette for quite a while as was his son back then. Sad to see things go that way.
On a related note, When I had the roof estimates done, I was told I had hail damage, contacted my wind company and they paid out pretty well. That was Geo Vera. Subsequently, they screwed hundreds of people (maybe thousands). I guess sometimes it's more timing than anything else.

Tri21 Roofing. Portion of their proceeds goes to the local Down syndrome awareness group

I don't think you are wrong about the company, and maybe not even about the guy I dealt with. Really slick con men are hard to pick out before they actually get caught. I usually think I'm pretty good at recognizing them but I suspect people who get duped feel the same way until it happens to them.

Mike Scarborough and Buddy are sponsored by Pride Roofing. They of course are paid to promote them but they do seem like a legitimate source for roofing needs.
