Here in North La, I've tilled up 11 rows, after adding 200lbs of pelletized dolomitic lime. The plan is to till in the 13-13-13 fertilizer right before planting Easter weekend.

Now just have to find my vegetable seeds and tomatoe plants for planting.

This past week I put in 12 tomato plants, 12 eggplant, 20 pepper plants in 4 varieties, I still have broccoli, Swiss Chard, Collards and onions growing since fall started.

I have seeds to direct sow and will be putting in slicing and pickling cucumbers, Japanese Yard Long Beans, soybeans for edamame, squash, Kentucky Wonder Pole Beans and Okra.

I have 5 rows 50 ft. long, 3 different trellises that average 15 ft. long by 6 ft. high and 1 raised bed that is 4 x 12 x 1 ft. deep for root crops.

We got enough rain the past 2 days to really make the soil hard to pull my rows, so once it dries out a bit I'll pull them and get the seeds in the ground.

New home, new garden. With lumber prices, I’m building from retaining wall blocks this time.

Have all my blocks staged and a big pile of soil/compost/amendments staged.

Getting 3in of snow tomorrow

Mine is done. Just waiting for this freeze to pass this weekend and I will plant a few things to get a bit of a head start. The following weekend(19th) is when I plan to really get everything in the ground.

never planted a garden before but I'm going to try a small one this spring. I was a track coach for a long time and spring was really busy. Now I'm hoping to have some time to garden. Still trying to decide what to plant. Thinking squash for sure and not sure what else.

After this freeze I plan to hook up the choppers and make a few passes. Will give it a couple weeks and chop again. Haven’t had too much luck in my sandy soil but will be adding fertilizer this year. Still learning

Well, pulling rows and sowing seeds this weekend got put on hold. Big rainstorm last night that started out with some small hail falling, then tons of rain for at least 30 minutes. My garden is soaked and pulling rows is not going to happen until the middle of next week-----if it doesn't rain again.
