I'm on a long term work assignment and just signed a lease at an apartment that I'm moving into in the 24th. It's been a long time since I've lived in an apartment. The only thing that immediately comes to mind is I want to replace the shower head with a nice hand held.

I've already purchased a sofa, ottoman, and mattress so I have the essentials dialed in. I'd like to make it feel more "honey" though.

Any good interior design resources online that might give me some pointers?

I always replace the toilet seat when I move somewhere new

Do you have a patio? A chair & table is nice to have if the weather is nice

Shoot, I bought my place from a lesbian couple so I replaced the whole toilet.

Get a rug if you don't have carpet in the living room. You definitely need a recliner too. Get some badass sheets and pillows for your bed.

I'm definitely going to need a rug. I'm down the street from the Magnolia Market in Waco. Looks like they have a good selection in their online store at least. Went by world market earlier and they didn't have as many rugs as I would have thought

Don’t sleep on Lowe’s and HD for rugs and stuff.

When stuff is hung on the walls is when I feel it becomes more comfortable. Mirrors, art, pictures, maybe even a crucifix or a cross if you are a believer.

Why don't you take a few pictures of your space, list your preferences in style (french country, modern, etc.) and upload to Chat-gpt or Grok and see what AI says.

Then you could ask for suggestions of specific pieces (rugs, lamps, wall hangings) and where to buy locally.

Might be fun.

Actually I started a chat on copilot Friday at work. Gave it the floor plan and some sample pictures from the website. Once I move in I'll take some photos of the actual unit

I copied and pasted the recommendations into a word document to review.

All I know is I'm ready to get out of this Airbnb. Some of these people put the cheapest shite possible in these things

I have a couple of prints I intend to take with me to make it feel more like home.

Good call on the mirror. I'll need one for the bedroom.

Why not ask your boyfriend to decorate for you?

Just kidding, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet has decent rugs for cheap.
