Any chance there's a Mosquito zapper out there that really works?

Yes, the claim is true: the majority of insects killed by bug zappers are not mosquitoes; instead, they are mostly non-biting insects like moths and flies, and beneficial creatures such as parasitic wasps and beetles that help control pests. Studies have shown that biting insects, including mosquitoes, account for a tiny fraction of the insects killed by bug zappers, as these pests are attracted to carbon dioxide, body heat, and other chemical cues, not the UV light of the devices.
What Bug Zappers Primarily Kill
Moths: Moths are highly attracted to the UV light emitted by bug zappers.
Non-biting Flies: Many types of flies that do not bite humans are killed by these devices.
Beetles: Beneficial beetles are a common victim of bug zappers.
Parasitic Wasps: These are important natural predators of other insects and are frequently killed by zappers.
Why Bug Zappers Don't Attract Mosquitoes
Attraction to Human Cues: Female mosquitoes are attracted to the carbon dioxide, sweat, perfumes, and warmth of humans and animals.
UV Light is Ineffective: The UV light from bug zappers does not target or attract mosquitoes.
Beneficial Insects Harmed: The widespread killing of beneficial insects can disrupt local ecosystems and even increase the population of certain pests.

The best was when a lizard would get zapped. Burning reptile flesh was the smell of summer in my youth.

downvoted for telling the truth that bug zappers actually make mosquito issues worse.

Dynatrap + Octenol
We haven't seen a mosquito on our back patio all summer.

Whatever you do … don’t buy those worthless Spartan traps. We’ve had multiple threads here over the years.

Absolutely worthless. I bought 4 and put them all around our property and maybe trapped 10 mosquitos total.

Worth a shot, thanks

Having our property treated monthly by Mosquito Joe is absolutely the best money I spend...we have a large pond close to the house and can sit outside with no bug spray.
