Adding 10 Bags of Blow-in Insulation

I've got blown in insulation in my attic. I want to add some to the low spots. I'm guessing I'll need about 5 bags, so I'm going to add 10 because you always need more of whatever it is you're doing, lol. I also figure you can't have too much.
Is it worth renting a machine for this or just spread by dumping out of the bag ok?

I keep pricing it out for the cellulose. HomeDepot is down to $12.xx if you buy 30 bags and the threshold for a free machine rental is 20 bags.
Not sure what they rent the machine for, but at the non-bulk price of $15, you could spend $300 total for 20 bags and a machine rental.
I have wanted to raise up my plywood decking for storage before blowing in more, but with the heat of summer rapidly approaching and the cost of plywood, I might just go blastin'.
$381 would buy 30 bags w/machine.
ETA:
Home Depot wants $123/4 hours or $175/day on the cellulose blower rental.

Have you used a machine before? They’re pretty easy to use?

Nothing to it. One man feeds the machine the other blows...

Dumping is not good, the air space between the insulation helps with the R value. Cellulose is ground up cardboard with a fire retardant added (Roach Proof/Boric Acid).

I bought 5 bags at our local building supply and they let me use their machine. I did ours in June and it was really hot. My wife and son fed the machine while I put it out. Be careful not to cover up your soffit vents.

Blown will settle over time. I’ve had blown settle, I just rolled out unfaced batts, came over the top of the blown.

Did you cover up attic joists or put in between?

Opposite direction of the joist, if having to walk on the joist, just flip one batt over. Plus, the air space helped with the R value.

How do you see the joists to be able to walk on them?

Roll them out with a poll/stick.

The blown in insulation has to be fluffed to be effective. I've seen a youtube video where a dude fluffed it himself in the attic in a large plastic tub using a drill and paint stirring attachment. After going through the process of showing how to lay down the insulation without using the machine, the creator put a comment to his own video that it was too much work and that next time he would just get the machine.
I have to do this myself before it gets too hot.

You shouldn’t walk on them, use a piece of plywood to stand on and move it as you work.

What y’all’s best guess on how many bags plus machine can fit in the back of a pickup truck? I could stack to an extent as I have a net I could throw over it.

My son just added 30 bags to his attic. He and my husband did it in about 3/4 hours I guess. Rented the machine. Hopefully it’ll help his comfort levels and heat/ac bill.
