What should I do about this? They're pretty much touching the top.
Unfortunately it seems those little grow lights in that dome are insufficient. That's what is causing your plants to become leggy. Basically they are stretching to reach for more light. You'll have to give them a stronger light source.
The good thing about tomato plants is you can repot them and bury the long stems. They'll grow roots all along the stem below the dirt.
ETA: Here’s a good video on how to fix them.

I planted everything on 1/18, the peppers popped up around 1/26-1/27.
Dang. I keep telling myself it's because I keep my house at 65 degrees. I was hoping the heat mat would help speed things up but I guess not.

How long does it normally take peppers to sprout?
If you're curious, just dig one up and see what's going on. I do it all the time. Drives my wife crazy

I had a feeling that the lights on these were not going to be nearly close enough to the plants. I plan on using mine as a humid environment to just get them to germinate then pop the top and add a better light source. I usually have even my high powered light set up just a couple inches from the top of the beds.

Yeah, kind of had the feeling too, most of y'all on here say no more than 3" or so, these are 5-6"ish.

Heat pads came in yesterday. When setting them up, I noticed two of my paste tomatoes have sprouted. No action on the pepper side of things yet.

Is there any difference in effectiveness between Hi-Yield and Southern Ag brands for making the Cleggs Cocktail? The pricing on Amazon is significantly cheaper in comparison:
Southern Ag Atrazine St. Augustine Grass Weed Killer, 1 Gallon
$36.75
Southern Ag 12102 Sticker Spreader 16oz
$12.20
Fertilome (10532) Weed Free Zone RTU (1 Gal)
$37.71

Feel like I’m slacking. Anyone else not start tomatoes yet?

I'm starting mine this weekend.

Not yet. I got anxious last year and that late freeze left me with plants over a foot tall. I'm going to wait until I'm 6 weeks out from my average last frost date.

I have started my seeds on a paper towel for the last four years. I put them in one of those plastic containers you get at a bakery. Black plastic on the bottom with a clear lid.
I write the seed type on the paper towel and can fit three different types of seeds in one container. Then I get hot tap water in a measuring cup and slowly and carefully pour it over all the seeds. Close the lid and keep it on the stovetop so there is warmth throughout the day. That way you can see what seeds are sprouting.
Then I transfer each sprouted one to a pot when the root is 1/8" long using a toothpick to drop it in the planting hole so I don't hurt it. That way you can eliminate the dud seeds and know that the seeds you planted are viable.
My tomato seeds started sprouting in 2 days, peppers in 4 days. I can't believe it can happen so fast, but it does.

Must be a woman thing. I dug one out and my wife had a lot to say about it. They're germinating just haven't made it through the dirt yet.

None of those 3 you listed are even remotely similar. Maybe I’m misunderstanding your question.

She was right, though. If I would have been patient and waited I wouldn't have had to wait long. They're all popping out of the dirt this morning. These are all seeds I saved from last year so I was worried they wouldn't sprout.

I was asking if there was a difference in performance between this brand and the Hi-Yield brand.
Hi-Yield is what Cleggs uses as their product.

I've used both the Hi-Yield and the Southern Ag atrazine before. I've noticed no noticeable difference in performance. They are both 4%. Use the cheaper one.
But just a heads up, this is the garden thread and not the lawn thread that was previously stickied. I don't know if someone is going to create another lawn thread. But you may get better results starting your own thread with your lawn questions.

Grass is one of the last things we want growing
