Question for anyone-
I applied preemergent on bermuda in October and again about 3 or 4 weeks ago. It has worked great, except in the last week a whole lot of Chickweed is coming up. This is my first year using preemergent. Is this chickweed simply coming out of dormancy from a previous season from when preemergent wasn't used, or is my preemergent simply ineffective on preventing germination of chickweed seeds?

too lazy to read all 6 pages but is there a way to kill bahaya without nuking my whole yard? I'm out in the country and a lot of the top soil I had brought in had bahaya seed in it.... started out real spotty but over time has gotten thicker each year until it is now probably 50-60% of my front yard area.
Sethoxydim in Hi-Yield grass killer kills bahaya.

So what’s the concensus on:
1) When to weed and feed the yard and
2) what to use to fertilize the lawn and prevent brown spots, but also eliminating clovers?

I wouldn't use weed and feed. Get out a pre-emergent herbicide out as soon as possible if that hasn't been done yet. You can grab a granular fungicide at a big box store to treat brown spot. Once your grass starts growing good, then hit it with some fertizer.

^ what he said.
Clovers are easy to kill with a three-way herbicide like Weedfreezone

Can someone explain to me like I’m a six year old?
What exactly do I buy?
When do I put it down?
Herbicide and fertilizer. Less than half an acre. Centipede mostly with trash grass and some clovers.

Question for anyone-
Could be the pre emerge you used isn't great on that specific weed if that is the only break you are having. Spray it with a 3 way mix like Trimec Southern.

Herbicides- Atrazine,Simazine, Prodiamine are common pre emergent herbicides. Apply in the fall and right now.
Use a post emerge like weed free zone, trimec southern or speedzone southern to kill clover, dandelions, and other broadleaf weeds.
Use Vantage (sethoxdim) to kill grasses in centipede like crabgrass and bahia.
Do not fertilize until centipede is completely out of dormancy. Do not over fertilize centipede, it is very susceptible to nitrogen damage. Use something like 16-4-8 or 15-00-15. Water is key.
I do not recommend weed and feed.

Grab something like this for a pre-emergent. It will typically say crabgrass control. I like the one listed below but you could also buy Scotts, spectracide or something else. You need to do this at a minimum spring and fall. It's not a bad idea to do every 3-4 months.

For fungicide, grab something like this... Doesn't have to be this exact one. There are many different brands.

Start with a slow release nitrogen fertilizer like Milorganite. You can't really damage your lawn with that stuff. I don't know much about centipede so I'll defer to others on that.

Bootlegger...thanks for all your advice every year. I bought some weed free zone to spray the yard if the weather can ever get right. Quick question...does it kill yard stickers? I don’t know their official name to verify if it kills them. Thanks

Not bootlegger, but yes it should.

Correct, spurweed is a broadleaf.

This is the fertilizer and preemergent I got.
Will these work?
Put the herbicide down now?
Thanks!

That fertilizer is good to go, come about April. Not familiar with that Preen, but a quick glance of the label says not for use on lawns.

What he said. That preen is for plants not lawns. Milo is good but it takes a while to work. Don't expect immediate results.

What’s a good preemergent found at Lowe’s that I need to put down now?
Their app sent me to that Preen stuff.

You're a little late on pre-emergent, but I'd go with this

That stuff is $20 for a bag, and covers almost half an acre. For that price I'd get some down for sure
