I don't have time to read this whole thread but can anyone tell me if Cs has commented?

I've commented sarcastically numerous times

I'll be the dumb one in the thread, but I need someone to crystal-clarify it for me- are we talking about no underlines on hyperlinks?
If so, I didn't notice that until this thread.
However, you might be wondering: "Swoopin, what brings you to the Help Board?"
If you're not, you should be. And the answer is this:
Whatever font yall were experimenting with was fricking horrible and I came to bitch about it.
I'll let the no underlines pass (probably for the best) if it means you won't change it to whatever Baskerville/Oregon Trail font shite yall were playing with earlier.
I use past tense because I believe you've switched it back off at the time of this post.
ETA: Maybe you haven't. Seemed to notice it on usernames. Do not like

Should have been with the times and ditched the lines years ago.
Solid move TD.

I only use mobile so it doesn't really affect me. I think the mobile version is infinitely better than desktop version so

Every browser has the ability to turn off underlined links at will. When a website does it - it's circa 1999 porn link site to circle jerk traffic.

People fail to realize that underlined links are emblematic of the 1990s internet, and that the overwhelming majority of websites have progressed to more modern design elements.
I didn't think I would be so bugged by this, but it's really ugly and distracting.

It's a big change and it's your website. You don't have time to read 5 pages of feedback? That's a tad disheartening.

I will donate no less than 1,000,000 hamsters for the lines

How is that a "progression?"

What does it really signify?
Are you telling me that when you visit a new website for the first time, how dated or modern it looks has no effect on you? Seemingly insignificant changes can have drastic effects on user engagement and retention. This obviously impacts the bottom line.
But regardless of whether it's a business decision or a personal preference decision, this is a fine example of the fact that people will complain about absolutely anything. Underscores on text that is obviously a link is redundant, pointless, and does little more than clutter the page.

It represents progression. It's consistent with contemporary design principles and layout aesthetics.
Of course, if we're societally resistant to change, and refuse to adopt progressive design principles in the various domains of life, then we would still have cars that looked like this...

...and people dressing like this...

...and new buildings that look like this...

...and an internet that looks like this...

Most other modern sites are bereft of underlined hyperlinks, and have been for quite some time. Are you "bugged" by this when you visit other websites?

So change just for the sake of change. Change just cause everyone else is doing it. And then will call it "progress"
Gee where have I heard that one before?
One of the reasons DrudgeReport is still one of the most popular websites is because he didn't change his format. And he still has underlines!

Looks better than how a lot of people dress now. I love the look of classic cars and late ninetieth/early twentieth century architecture still command a premium price through out the country.
If you argument is things are so much better now just cause the style is different then I can't agree.
