Depends on the crime. Posting porn and racist remarks are considered super felonies and carry much heavier suspension times.

Anywhere from a few hours to permanently.
The two biggest factors: How many times have you been banned already, and what did the poster get banned for.
First thing I check is a posters admin history. People with no record get more breaks than those who have made a habit of running afoul of the law.

Depends on what it is I've been banned 5 months for an alter and about 2 months for spamming

So, hypothetically, a poster has been here since... oh, 2007. 8 years. Been banned twice but not in a long while and never gets PMs from admins. Over 5 years since last ban. So she/he gets more leeway than some noob jacknut that borders crossing the line on the reg?
