Has the SEC Rant become a place where trolls just try to one up each other?

Seems like that's all I see when I venture over there these days. No serious discussion and just constant flame fest.

Are the serious discussions now only on the individual team boards that not everyone can access?

just trying to make a name for themselves. Pioneering, it'll die down, give it time.
Then I will come in.

I go there very rarely and when I do and read half of the first page I end up immediately regretting it

At first you could actually find serious SEC discussion but for the past 3 or 4 months it's nothing but constant shitty troll thread.

Sort of sucks too because at one point I enjoyed reading it and posting there occasionally.

Did you miss last off season on the SEC Rant?

It was much worse then IMO.

One of the reasons the team boards were created was so topical threads wouldn't get derailed, trolled, or flamed like they might on the SEC rant.

Good conversations still exist on the SEC Rant, they're just hard to find.

I also think the creation of the OTB has reduced the amount of nonsense unrelated to sports on the SEC Rant.

Do you have a solution to propose for your particular issue with the SEC Rant?

I'd be interested to hear it.

I don't think it has ever been as bad as it is now. Even during the past season at least 50% of the post were constant troll posts. It's like it started last off season and has grown since to the shite fest it is now.

It sucks that if you do see a serious discussion on another team's forum you can't join in. It also sucks that you would have to visit so many individual forums to find said discussion.

So you can relay it to the other admin?

I have no soultion because honestly it seems too far gone at this point. Sucks too because it started out so strong.

I blame the hog fans. They ruined the coaching changes board when it was around and they try to one up each other with trolling.

this. there is no saving it unless a lot of bannings were administered. you'll notice the same posters in all of the troll threads and it's become tiresome.

I was hoping baseball season would help alleviate the SECr of the nonsense, but that clearly didn't happen.

They should just nuke the board, IMO.

I wasn't a fan of the exclusivity idea on the team forums but logistically it's the only way to keep the boards clean without heavy moderation I'd imagine.

Nope, just wanted to see if this was something more than a bitch and moan thread.

That's why I never click that board.

Once another team's fans finds out that one subject that sets off another team, they ram it into the ground. Too much jockeying for my liking,

Hogs, Aggies, & Cocks all seem to have a high yahoo percentage. Must have something to do with expansion.

You're right, probably was thinking of him at the time .

FWIW, Alabama homers can be just as bad, maybe even worse, and that's coming from a two-time alum.
