I'm just saying the MSB will look like it did during all of the fantasy draft. I will make sure that there are at least two thread devoted to each qualified team. Yes even New Zealand or Bahrain. Anyone wanting a preseason football or baseball thread to will have to sift through countless World Cup threads. Leeds alone will have about seven threads a day due to the high number of international stars on that club.

You're speaking what you think is truth. If you were a soccer enthusiast you would know that non-European teams do exponentially better when the World Cup is not in Europe. It's just how it is. Brazil is the only non-European team to win a World Cup on European soil and it happened in 1958 and a European team has never won a World Cup when it wasn't in Europe. So look for an African team to make a run, Brazil to go deep, and the USA to break bracket.

Then you don't realize the potential of this team.

Handicapping the field

Locks for getting out of group play

England
Netherlands
Brazil
Spain

Close to locks:

Germany
Ivory Coast
Italy

Fighting for 9 knockout spots:

USA
Mexico
Russia*
France*
Portugal*
Australia
Japan
South Korea
Cameroon*
Paraguay
Chilé
Paraguay
Argentina

*Pending qualification

These are the top teams from each of the regions. It all comes down to whom you get drawn.

So basically 13 teams fighting for 9 spots.

You have crummy groups like this:

Mexico
Portugal
Angola
Iran

or great ones like

USA
Ghana
Czech Republic
Italy

it all depends on the luck of the draw.

Either you are continuing to be a douche or actually enjoy logical evaluation.

I'm unsure, the emoticon throws me off.

So far the consensus is positive. Great to see. I'm beyond pumped for June 2010.

I think at least Keys has signed up. Not sure about S or Ronny Mex.

If we don't get a World Cup Board, there will be riots in South America.

I agree, a WC Board would be great to have, and also would drum up interest in other TD members, but lets hold off til say March or April, otherwise casual fans may loose interest by Jan. In general a good idea though!

Had no intention of wanting it until about May. Tournament starts second week of June. There will be a lot of buildup with friendlies and squad announcements beginning about a month in advance.

I've learned to ignore the anti-football (soccer) yabos. Not worth my time, any longer. Once upon a time, I too, used to pounce with facts and reasonable discussion. They're not worth the time.

I support this idea, and if granted, suggest opening it sometime near the end of April or beginning of May to discuss the end of the league seasons, and World Cup previews.

Of course, I'm not S or Keys, but I've been around the footy threads for a bit, now.
