I never forget before the Cubs winning the World Series in 2016 no one in Louisiana was a Cubs "fan" and once that happened, everyone in the state was a Cubs "fan" all of a sudden. It was honestly the most pathetic thing I've ever witnessed in the sports world.

Everyone loves a winner. I've seen more Astros gear around Shreveport since the Astros won the series than I ever have before. Where were these people in 2012? Let's discuss the seasons of Brian Bixler and Travis Buck.

LSU fans who wear Astro gear to the games are a joke

Why? Cause most LSU fans are Astro fans and one of the best players in LSU baseball history is a star for the Astros? LSU and South Louisiana has always had ties to the Houston area so it makes sense. I’ve been an Astro fan since day 1 so I hate people complaining about Astro bandwagons in South Louisiana. It was rough growing up as an Astro fan so now that they are successful I’m going to proudly wear my Astros gear because I take a lot of pride in them. I know what it was like before all this success and those were some very rough years.

I was born in Beaumont. My first MLB game was in the dome. I’ve got pictures of little Prez decked out in Rainbow gear from the 80s. I’ve enjoyed all the people that suddenly were Cubs fans trying to question my fandom.

The last few years have been a blast.

Maybe it’s because we grew up watching the Zephyrs. At the time I was growing up they sent numerous players up to the Stros. Lance Berkman, Daryl Ward, Adam Everett and Brad Ausmas just to name a few. When the farm system was sold I continued rooting on the Astros, one being I’m from New Orleans and we relocated there after Katrina, the second being once I pick a team it will become a commitment for me and my sons as well..

Maybe I rephrase that to say most LSU fans in Southwest LA, Houston and Southeast TX are Astros fans. Don’t undermine those fans. There’s a shite ton of LSU fans in those regions.

Preach! It’s stupid as hell that people are acting like bitches about south La supporting the stros. Who gave a shite about the saints prior to 2006 outside of New Orleans? Not many people. Now they’re a major regional brand. Why do you people have problems with South La people supporting the closest MLB team geographically to them? Seeing Astros support along I-10 east would be a lot better than seeing bullshite Cubs, Braves, Yankees and redsox fans halfway across the country from where those teams are based.

IMO, it’s okay to jump on the bandwagon of a team that is considered your region’s team. As long as you own it, didn’t have a prior fandom of another team, and don’t act like you’re some life long fan. Jumping on one of a team that’s across the country is what I hate.

The problem is that 90% of Houston fans act like they have been life long fans when none of them went to a game for the decade they sucked complete arse.

I have even started to see Houston gear in Dallas. I make it a point to tell these people to take that shite off unless they want their arse kicked.

This obviously only happens after I check knuckles, but 99% of Astro fans are pussies so it’s not often I pass up the opportunity.
