Looking for an alternative to the Beachbody Performance Recovery Formula. Love the stuff, just not the $70 price tag for a 1 month supply. Was looking at a few and saw that BSN Amino X Post Workout Muscle Recovery & Endurance Powder has the most positive reviews on Amazon and it's only $20.

Replace the glycogen quick.

To me, it's a cheaper, more delicious protein shake

Why chocolate milk?

Sugar, protein, Vit D, and micro stuff from chocolate.

Good god men. Do we really need a recovery drink? I think the whole industry of "recovery" is a bunch of absolute BS. Eat real food - meat - and recover all you'll need. There is absolutely no need to ingest any sugar at all to recover from any workout.

Amino X has very little, if any, sugar in it. So no, you don't need to ingest sugar to recover from a workout.

Most people don't need anything but a good meal.

My recovery shake/meal if I have the macros
50g whey isolate
12-16 oz steak
Sweet potato
Veggies

Ice bath

Who said I needed one? I want one. I like the Beachbody recovery formula because I like the way it tastes and it makes me feel better after a workout. I'm looking for a cheaper option. Why does this bother you?

Sometimes I don't eat until an hour after I'm done working out. Like injecting some nutrients right after working out to help reduce muscle soreness. The recovery drink works, or at least I feel it does.

Who said anything about sugar?

The BeachBody recover drink is the best-tasting one on the market, bar none. It's just expensive af.

What are the key ingredients in Recover?*
Pomegranate extract
This powerful ellagitannin-rich extract is scientifically shown to promote faster muscle recovery while helping to manage exercise-induced muscle soreness. It's a natural recovery-enhancing ingredient that helps muscles return to normal strength faster, especially after intense workouts.
20 grams of high-quality protein
Fast-, intermediate-, and slow-release proteins ensure a constant supply of nutrients to create the optimal environment to improve muscle recovery and promote muscle growth.
Branched-chain amino acids (BCAAs)
Recover also includes an ideal 2:1:1 ratio of Leucine, Isoleucine, and Valine, branched-chain amino acids that are unique for their ability to help promote muscle synthesis and support rebuilding.

geez people buy that for $70 a bottle?

I currently used Optimum Nutrition 2:1:1 but I really don't like the amount of sugar in it

LINK

If someone can offer up an alternative, I'll gladly switch

I only drink a recovery shake if I'm not eating within a few hours though, like if I workout at 2 or 3 in the afternoon
