Workout music--Classical/Instrumental

There are a lot of general music threads, so I thought I'd try to hone in. Favorite classical or instrumental stuff to work out to?
I hedged classical because my top two are movie themes:
Friday Night Lights--Your Hand in Mine.
LINK
Requiem for a Dream--Lux Aeterna Orchestral version.
LINK
This is the area of workout music I have the least, so open to suggestions.

Usually when I'm working out, I want a bit more upbeat music.
In somewhat a similar genre to your suggestions, yet more "rocking", I offer Trans Siberian Orchestra's
Requiem the Fifth
Christmas Eve / Sarajevo
O Come all Ye Faithful/ O Holy Night

This is my thread.
I generally just listen to Nick Cave and Warren Ellis radio on Pandora.
You will get a lot of the modern classical/instrumental stuff like you posted in your OP.
I think more people should try listening to calmer music while working out. It helps me control my breathing and calm my heartrate.
If you are trying to go balls to the wall to get that one heavy lift, I see the use of heavy music, but if you are trying to sustain a long work out, try more mellow music.

I pretty much want to fall out when I'm done.

Do you have Earl grey in your water bottle?

For me, it's based on my mood.
Sometimes I need a pick me up, so I'll go with more aggressive music. Sometimes I'm more relaxed and not in the mood for that, so I'll go slower.
Sometimes I'm in a good place and a bit calmer works with that mindset, especially on a rep work day. Max lifts, I usually go with something to get hyped up to.

Nothing gets me more amped on the treadmill than the 1812 Overture. Love the change of tempo toward the end.

I'm in a totally different training mindset than you. Volume work still requires max effort. If something is too light, I up the weight. I will never be able to listen and chill to a workout. If I'm at that stage, I might as well go home.

Yes and no. For me, max effort includes to failure. If I'm going to failure set 1 of volume work, I'm doing it wrong.
In terms of approaching each rep with focus and nailing your cues, I agree. I don't really need music for that, though.
For submaximal volume work (which is my volume work not taken to rep maxes) my big focus is execution of cues and bar speed. For some lifts, getting too hyped actually detracts from that for me.
Different strokes for different folks, though.

Same, I listen to Rap (Mostly Houston) or fast paced rock.
I would be able to do Your Hand In Mine though, just because its association to FNL.

Nothing to do with chilling. In no way, do just "listen and chill to a workout".
It is more to do with controlling breath and heartrate.
The calm music helps me focus on these things, rather than just blind rage.
