Powerman,
My wife measured and I never really lost or gained inches in my calf, it was just soft with no muscle tone. The second I could be weight bearing (no boot) I started at the gym doing calf & leg work on both legs...ortho & PT told me not to focus only on the weak side.
It was from December 12th - March 15th for me , much longer than you.
I did medium-heavy clean pulls because I had a background in Olympic lifting so I was comfortable.
I walked & walked until my gait looked and felt normal and then I noticed my calf and foot was looking defined and felt firm. It honestly didn't take long and I was running within a week or two of boot coming off.
The atrophy of the small foot muscles was the biggest shock but it didn't take long to get running form back.
Long story short, boot off and I was running & working out like normal within 2 weeks of clean X- Ray.
I'm 36 and just a normal guy, you will be fine.

Really uneventful story. Stepped out of my front door where there is really slippery ceramic tile and ate it. Ankle rolled really awkwardly. Minor fibula fracture.
You getting rid of that slippery tile?

Powerman,
Only a couple weeks...once my gait was normal, and not "wobbly", I was out walking and at the gym the hardness and shape came right back.
