Weight Watchers works

I've lost 18 lbs since Thanksgiving and I may have worked out three times since then. The points system has been completely revamped, so I can still eat some of the foods I enjoy with no problem (as long as I eat reasonable portion sizes).
I don't post on this board much, so it's probably been discussed already. Give it a try if you want to lose weight but haven't tried the program yet.

What percentage of your total weight is that?

I was 259 when I started the program and I'm down to 241. I'm still 40 or so pounds overweight, but it's dropping.

Congrats baw
I’m on the same journey but using a different method. I started at 262 and working toward 225.
I’m glad you found something that works. There are a lot of different ways to do it. Keep it up!

How does the points system work?

Creating a caloric deficit works, surprise!
I actually think it's a great tool for your average Joe that doesn't care about nutrition, doesn't want to track calories or macros. It's just a simple way to keep your intake in check.

That is awesome. You will probably get some naysayers but it’s whatever you find that works for you.

Which program are you doing with them? Digital only? Meetings?

Digital only.

It really is addicting once you start seeing results

Thanks, I'm looking at their programs and considering it.

I don’t think this is happening (for me at least). The new system assigns zero points to food like grilled chicken breast and red beans, for example. All fruit is also zero points.
It’s working for me

If you're losing weight then by definition youre in a caloric deficit. Dieting is just the method you use to create a deficit

I hope it works out
Just FYI, daily points for women are usually much lower compared to guys. My wife has 23 points per day, but I have 39.

Thanks! I'm about to do more fertility stuff in 2 months so I might have to cancel my membership if I finally get pregnant.
But figure I can at least try it in the meantime.
I just love bread too much to do very restrictive diets...so I need something I can actually maintain on a long term basis.

If you’re asking about how it’s calculated, I don’t completely understand it, to be honest. There have been different iterations of it over the years. It factors in macros, but the current version gives low point values to foods that are not “bingeable”, like chicken breast. Fruit is also zero points.
But each day you’re given an allotment of points that you shouldn’t exceed. The amount of points depends on your age, gender, current weight, physical activity, etc.

Oh, well yeah I’m dumb

Not bingeable? I could binge the heck out of chicken breast, red beans, and fruit. I have super fatty powers!
I have done weight watchers before. It is very easy to do long term because you have lots of choices. When I did it there were no zero point foods. I think that would get me in trouble with overeating.

I just signed up for the digital only program.
We shall see how it goes. I just know if I do anything too restrictive I will not sustain it. What’s the point of losing weight if you torture yourself to do it and then gain it all back the moment you eat some fries? With my PCOS I need something I can easily maintain long term.
