I never said I was hypoglycemic, I just have those symptoms every time I don’t eat for several hours. I’ve had to be NPO for many surgeries this past year. A few from midnight until 2-3 pm the next day. I was miserable the entire time. My blood sugar though wasn’t that horrible (like 65-70) in pre-op. And I am on metformin (750 mg ER BID) to help better regulate my PCOS to up my odds of success with my upcoming IVF.
I’m sure IF works for some and that is great, it just isn’t something that appeals to me in the slightest. I need something I can sustain during this stressful time in my life....not something that will cause me to binge. I have enough stress in my life right now, I don’t need a diet to cause me more stress right now.

Hey, non-diet related question... Career wise, is it possible for you to work normal hours or at least get off the night shift? Is it also possible to sleep for 7-8 hours during the night? I think this would help your fertility efforts exponentially. Just getting better sleep will help better regulate blood sugar levels, insulin, and stress.

I’ve been off night shift for 2 years now. Work an office job M-F 8-4:30 as an infection control nurse for the same hospital I worked nights as a Peds nurse. I had worked nights for 16 years before that and I’m sure that took a toll on my body.
And I agree 100% about the sleep to reduce stress. I’ve been trying my best to get 7-8 hours a night if I can. I seem to do better if I work out in the am so that sometimes means I’m going to bed at 7-8 pm to get up 3:30-4 to work out. I give myself an hour each am during my work week to be able to slowly eat and enjoy my breakfast, drink a cup of coffee and relax, read, watch tv, whatever before I start my day. That also helps me maintain my sanity when times get tough.
ETA: going to bed so early also prevents me from snacking late in the evening. I usually eat dinner at 5-5:30
