Another vote for the Powerblocks.

Just make sure you get the ones 777 recommended. Some of the others don’t have the expansion sets and the plates are not coated.

Powerblock seems like the best but I can’t get passed the awkward design.

It’s really not that awkward once you use them a couple times, you don’t even notice the cage after a while

Anyone use the Core adjustable dumbbells? Garage gym review guy likes them.

I have the Core dumbbells and they're nice. Like lsu777 said, I wouldn't drop them.

If you're still looking and live in the BR area I'll sell you mine. I also have a Flybird bench. It's not as beefy as the Rep benches but is very sturdy and folds up if you need to get it out of the way. Both are like new.

I got the Rep Fitness AB-3000 2.0. Haven’t opened it but that fricker is heavy. Going to be a workout getting it up the steps. Holding off on the set of dumbbells until he gets a little stronger. We have a set that goes up to 25 currently.

sweet. i would have him do the ppsa DB strength program a couple times and then grab the adjustable DBs. but that program is a great basic template for sure.

He’s really the best out there imo. He has been spot on with everything I’ve bought and it’s very informative how he breaks things out by best overall, budget picks, etc. He’s a must follow for garage gym folks.
