I was coming to this forum in hopes of finding something on this topic. Thanks for doing so. I am Type 2 and have been on Monjaro for a year now. A1C is 4.9 and lost 25 lbs. I am 64 years old but my main problem is energy level. I was a workout fiend and now I don’t want to do anything and sometimes I feel like I am dying from inactivity. Recently started the Shilyat (msp) tablets for an energy boost versus a synthetic T shot.

I started low carb high fat. 10 yrs in im keto/carnivore, more carnivore.if i eat 30 grams of carbs a week that's a lot.

and the carbs I eat are Broccoli cauliflower and a lot of salads, absolutely no sugars, rice starches or white breads no oatmeal which i love.

no medications at all type 2 can be reversed with diet and lifestyle changes

I would suggest getting a CGM (constant glucose meter)

i use stello. libre just a couple

plenty videos to watch DR Binkman Jason Fong I wouldnt do any glp1

the great thing about it is that you can reverse it. You have to lose weight. Take it seriously. Eat good meals , take glp-1 meds as prescribed and exercise.

correct diet of food is 100% the key to reversing T2. Walking is fine. Correct diet. T1 and t2 have completely different set of requirements to manage it.

My brother in law went low carb and his blood work all returned to normal. He didn’t like taking Metformin. Low carb, no medicine, and all is well.

It can be done. Bust sugar and proper diet with weight loss, a1c will drop back to normal

There are a ton of diabetes-friendly dieticians out there with great recipes and ingredient swaps if you need some recommendations.

Really interested in a diabetic diet. Doc is going to put me on one of the GLP1’s starting next week.

I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes in April 2024, and my doc wanted to put me on a GLP1. I asked her to hold off and see if I could manage it on my own with a better diet and exercise. I ended up losing 35-40 pounds and I've kept it off. My A1C levels are in the normal range now (mid 5's) with no medication.

For my "diet", I cut out as many empty carbs as I can. I don't watch calories or anything like that. I eat a high protein, high fat, low carb diet. I eat a lot of meat, fruits, and vegetables. I don't drink soft drinks or sugary drinks at all unless it's the occasional beer or pour of whiskey. When my wife makes red beans and rice or spaghetti (or anything with rice or pasta), she makes brown rice or whole grain pasta for me. I also cut out almost all fast food completely. That's it. No magic pill when it comes to the diet.

For exercise, I get plenty now. I go to the gym and lift 2 to 3 times a week. I walk or run at least 3 miles a few times a week. If you do that combined with a cleaner diet, you may not need medication to control your diabetes.

T2 is completely reversible with diet. I was T2 about 5 years ago. Went Full clean Keto and completely reversed it in less than a year.
