Yeah if you wear a size 4.5 or 12.5. Unless I'm too late?
Do you get alerts when shoes hit a certain price point on various sites, are do you just peruse often?

I must have got the last 9s.
Was just looking for the Epic React replacement. Going to shift the ZFFK to that slot and race in the Streaks.

New Balance is making a move on the shoe front. They’re looking to grab the serious runners from Nike. This 5280 racing flat is exciting and looks mile focused. For those that don’t remember, the mile used to be the premier distance in racing until the late nineties. It’s coming back. Even the NCAA is ditching the 1500 for the mile. I digress.
This thing has been reviewed that if you’re not running sub 6s, the shoe doesn’t work for you. Damn. 200$

Even their more mainstream offerings have made big strides recently. I'm a big fan of their fresh foam and knit uppers.

Love the FF Beacon. It's my go to long run shoe. Light enough for up tempo work also though. Durability is my only concern as it's basically a big hunk of foam, but I'm OK with that. I still rotate the Ghost on longer stuff, but only to get miles on them prior to retirement. Just hit 250 yesterday, but they still look brand new. No durability concern there.

I do like the Beacons. But I'm still pissed at NB for retiring the Zante Breathe. They were my favorite running shoe ever. I should have stocked up.

I have an event tomorrow (half marathon) that will be used to focus on pace , form, and running hard with a group.
It will be very wet and actively storming during the run....
Could these conditions do damage to my Valorfly 4% ?
Is it worth putting the 13 - 15 miles on them under these conditions if this is more of training event and not PR attempt?
I'd love this to be my new PR, and I will run as hard as I can but --> no pace group , hills, thunderstorm, 81 degrees @ 85% humidity...just being realistic.

One thing to consider is that the upper is not meant to handle water of any kind and is a drawback that was corrected in the Next %. Your feet will definitely be soaked if you race them in the rain.

It would be irresponsible to race in that weather in any shoe. If was hellbent on doing it, my only goal would be to finish.

They got my interest again. The second worst shoe I've ever run in is the 1500v4 and NB is always super heavy. However, this new line's look, price, and use of 21st century materials finally has got me stoked.

I’m a NB homer (yeah I’m a homer of a lot of shoes) but I think they have a unique fit to each foot. Meaning, I think they are the least “one size fits all” of the major brands.
There are several I’ve tried on that felt awful.

Thanks Roots& BRM,
I'm not going to waste miles on the 4% just to get wet feet.
I'll safely make this event productive and it will still beat running for 13 miles in my neighborhood.
Professionally I am a "safety guy" / risk manager so I'll treat the heat and slippery roads with tremendous respect and have fun , meet some people, and find some positives & new things to work on. I have no ego, too hot will be too hot and I'll be happy to mail it in out of caution.

Anyone have a pair of Altra One 2.5 and what's your experience?
I have Altra Torin 2.5 and have put too many miles to count on them in the last less than a year.
The One 2.5's are much lighter and I'm hoping they are similar because I mistakenly tried to order the same Torin 2.5's off Ebay but mistakes were made.

Don’t think anyone has run the Torins. That being said, we all love us some escalantes if it’s gotta be zero drop.

Just saw that Nike is releasing a Pegasus 36 Trail.
Consider me interested. Even if my run game has been crap the last 2 weeks

frickin excellent looking out, Burt! Snagged a pair with the quickness. Always wanted to try the Boston’s and only 50 bones. And white trainers for the summer. Hell yeah!
On another note, I’m about to retire the Escalante. Haven’t had a good run in them in awhile.

It’s a great shoe and no tax and free shipping. Got a pair to retire my Boston 6s.

I'm thinking you need a pair of the FC Rebs, Burt. I'm intrigued. A faster Beacon I can get down with.
