I had the same experience during my first go with Keto last year. Felt like shite trying to swim if I ate during the day, especially if I cheated and got a sandwich or something non-Keto for lunch.

There is an amazing amount of disinformation regarding fasting it’s unbelievable.

Here’s the amounts and macros. I know it’s not a legit recipe but cook the chicken in the instapot until done and then just melt the other ingredients.

Dear OWSA,

My wife and I are starting Keto today and are kicking it off with a 72 hour fast. I need to lose about 25 lbs.

A few questions:

1) Is there anything other than water or black coffee that we can consume during the fast to help abate hunger or give us energy.

2) Should we work out during the fast other than just light cardio?

3) Once the fast is over, what type of exercise do you recommend while on keto?

That's all I got for now.

Thanks,

A. Williams

Lol that’s light since I normally eat between 2500-3000 calories daily.

Drink the ketoaid from the OP. No need for regular water. The electrolytes will give you energy. Dial it back if you start to get loose stool.

If this is your first time fasting just do fasted walking.

Whatever you normally do continue to do it. If you are looking for a program to get you stronger and do a body re-comp something like GSLP is right up your alley. It’s what I do as well. See the GSLP primer thread a few below.

Damn, maybe I’ll get there one day. This was my day today. How did I do? Do you have to meet the carb goal or is that goal just a threshold?

I just plug everything into the app. I had planned to grab lunch somewhere until I plugged in the food. It would’ve ruined my day. I’m not good enough at this to go it alone without an app for a tracker

Yeah at this point I’m lean to the point I’m trying desperately to not lose anymore weight (6’2” 185lbs)

Looks pretty good. I can’t see the percentage of fat but as long as it’s >70% you’re in the right range. I would prefer closer to 75% especially for someone just starting out and needing to get fat adapted.

Carbs are not a goal that’s a hard limit. Keep your carbs <20g net a day. That will guarantee you stay in ketosis.

So confirmed eating less than 20g of carbs will not guarantee ketosis

There's a lot of novices on here. You can't just day eat less than 20g carbs and you'll be in ketosis. I made that mistake when I was new to all this shite.

As the coach, that's like saying just go up there and hit the ball. You need to explain the stance and swing first.

You are really bad at taking criticism for a guy that loves to give advice.

Skinny little nerd!

I finished high school at that size. I don’t want to get that small again. 225 is my first goal.

The red is the fat. It’s right at 70% I’m having trouble getting enough fat.
