The video is 9 months old, but some of you may not have seen it. I had thought it was one of the staff members freaking out, but turns out it was just some random bro giving this kid a hard time.

ETA: looks like that baw was banned from the gym

The backstory is that the staff at a Buzz Fit gym in Montreal, Quebec have given my client a hard time in past weeks about deadlifting too loudly in the gym. They said he still could, but he had to place mats underneath the plates. So he did as they asked. A random bystander, not a staff member, (wearing an Animal shirt of all things: my sponsor) took it upon himself to confront him after he deemed his deadlifts to be too loud and watch what ensues.
UPDATE
Charles is grateful for all of the support and is pressing charges against the man. He has been given a year long free membership to his dream gym in Montreal: SSP Barbell Club.

As well, a staff member has been suspended in connection with the incident, said Craig Johnson, head of operations for Buzzfit gyms, on Sunday evening.

That weight banging really wasn't that bad

Assuming I don’t throw out my back, if that a-hole would have done that to me, I would have absolutely wrecked his shite. People who get all butthurt about the sounds deadlifts make need to unfrick themselves. There is a point where no matter how in control you are of the decent, it will make noise. Once you get over 315 or so, it’s going to make noise. As long as the dude isn’t dropping it from the top of the lift, there is no problem.

I don't understand why in the frick people care if weights bang and make noise. How the frick does that bother somebody that is at a gym?
And yea sorry I am wrecking that guy's shite as soon as I dropped the bar.

I do 5x10 deads every week, he would hate me.
I am only doing 5x10 at around 160lbs, but around the 3rd set it starts banging
I will take banging weights over loud grunting any day.

A video behind that was Bradley Martin discussing it and I wanted to punch him.
Talking about the eccentric portion of the lift and how a lifter who can’t fully control it, should lighten the load. For someone who is in a fitness position like his he should know it may not be completely possible for someone training deadlift.
The dude isn’t bodybuilding, he’s training for powerlifting, and the eccentric portion of all his lifts is more than enough for any powerlifting competition. Also, if someone is going very heavy, and manages to just lock it out, trying to slowly lower the weight on the way down after a massive lift, is a recipe for disaster.

Hell yeah this. I have only made it up to 375lbs in Deadlift, but you are not lowering that quietly.
