Starting working out again question.

So I have decided that I needed to start working out again however I am in a bit of a pickle and am looking for some advice.
I have had 3 shoulder surgeries (2 right labrum repairs and 1 left labrum repair). I recently had an MRI on both again since I am still hurting even after limited activity.
The MRI showed a tear in the rotator cuff with bone spurs and either very little to no cartilage on the left shoulder and basically the same on the right shoulder just minus the rotator cuff tear.
I was wondering if bands would be a better option than weights. Im not looking to join a gym yet as I am trying to gradually get back into working out and I figured gyms would be packed soon.
I've started cutting back on the beer and started upping my water intake during the day.
My biggest concern is getting back to lifting. I appreciate any advice.

Do Stem Cell treatment, fully recover.

honestly you are either gonna have surgery or you are going to have to do something like stem cell treatment or bpc/tb500
as far as bands...man truthfully bands put a lot of tension at the top of a movement, actually more than weights do. i would maybe try it and start doign some rehab but with little to no cartilage you are going to be in pain.

Yeah I know I need shoulder replacements but my main question was would the bands be better than free weights.
I miss working out and since I stopped my hobby became drinking and watching YouTube videos.
I appreciate the help.

The good thing about bands is not having an actual weight in your hands if you have to bail on a lift. Physical therapists recommend a bunch of band work for this reason. I've been through two rounds of PT, for disc issues in my neck and back. The heaviest weight I ever used there was like 5-8 lbs. Go on Amazon and get a set of bands. You can do plenty of arm/chest/back work with those to start out, and they're fairly cheap, much cheaper than a set of weights.

From the hobby replacement standpoint:
Start walking an hour a day and limit as much sugar as you can until you figure out the lifting aspect. That’ll get you going in the right direction.

I appreciate all of the advice.
I have already started to cut back on beer but didn't realize how much sugar I was taking in until you mentioned it. I guess it will be sugar free red bulls from here on out.

I lost 15 pounds by only eliminating sugar in drinks.
Splenda in coffee and tea.
Coke became Coke Zero.
If you’ll keep protein high, you’ll lose fat around muscles, which will remain, and you’ll look bigger without yet building muscle.

Yeah I think the sugar in coffee has gotten me over the last several months. I was never a huge coffee drinker but my coworker is and we stop for coffee before we get to the job. So I might change to splenda or swap to a sugar free energy drink.

Stem cells therapy data overall does not support it's efficacy and true stem cell treatment is $$$. If it's not expensive, you're not getting stem cells. PRP, which is very different, has not been shown to be beneficial in the vast majority of randomized blinded trials evaluating its use.
I would recommend starting with physical therapy

Start learning how to move again. MovNat has changed my life. I lost 25# just by practicing natural movements. Once you get used to moving again start incorporating other fitness routines. I also do rucks at least a couple of times a week. Below is a link to get started with MovNat. Tons of free content on youtube. Sign up for the weekly practices (work outs).

Good luck.

I keep a box of 5 hour energy in my truck. If I need a little boost I take one. They get me going. Another thing, get you a Garmin watch, it’ll keep up with your steps and it’s kinda a little motivating.

This is something else that I need. Im not sure how my shoulders would hold up with some of those exercises but I'm sure you could modify it.
I was actually going to start com up my back bedroom to do some stretching in the morning to see if that would help take care of my sciatica pain.
I appreciate the help.

you can drink all the zero calorie drinks you want...ignorant people are going to say ignorant shite about it.
as far as physical therapy...it may help with overall movement but its not going to fix your shoulder with what you have going on.
injections may help some but surgery is best bet by far.

This. Is it the most healthy thing in the world....probably not. But I listened to a podcast the other day with a someone discussing studies where those who drank diet soda were more successful than those who drank just water when attempting the same diets. Basically the thought is that 0 calorie soda helped to fill those sweets cravings and people stayed away from snacking on unhealthy junk. Whereas the water drinkers had a tougher time staying away from the empty calories, therefore had a higher failure rate.

That’ll help a ton, depending on your current intake. I’m just not a fan of energy drinks.

yep in the studies those that used diet drinks lost more weight than those that only drank water.
im not a big coke person but do like white monsters. either are fine though in the grand scheme

can i ask why?
everyone likes to make them out to be some boogie man yet nothing in them is unhealthy unless you are not used to that amount of caffeine or are an athlete. in general caffeine is very good for all cause mortality.
