Yes. Someone is always playing music. Mostly rap or rock. I'm weird and like classical music when I work out, so it's nice when I'm the only one in the gym and I can put it on. Although when someone walks in they always seemed weirded out by it

LOL! That is awesome. Hey, it worked for the trainer in Warrior. I prefer rock most of the time, but have actually listened to songs like 'Storm' by Craig Armstrong. Really depends on where I am and what I'm doing.

Side note, I was watching a Netflix doc Functional Fitness which focuses on CF. Are most owners/head trainers like that guy? He just seems like a douche to me and will add in something like... "This WOD could kill you ..ha.. but seriously guys". Yeah, this could be true, but if you don't be mindful of everything you do at the gym/class you can always harm yourself. I'm sure he is pumping that up bc he is on TV, but still.

You get any better at doggy paddle?

ETA: Laughed at your response to that swimming thread were you said you jump from a branch in a shallow river to learn how to swim.

Yes.

At GCF the coach controls the music. Sometimes that's good, sometimes it's bad.

Today is going to be Diane.

21-15-9
Deadlift (225/155)
HSPU

Not sure what amount to deadlift. My 1RM is 355 so 225 isn't super heavy but at 21-15-9 I don't know what the ideal % of max that's supposed to be. Guessing I'll do 185, but we'll see what the coach says. Going to have to OHP instead of HSPU.

My music will bounce around from dubstep to rap.

Nothing else really jives with my mood when I’m training.

I can go unbroken on the DLs but it’ll slow down my HSPUs so I’ll probably go..

11-10 and 21 HSPUs
8-7 and 15 HSPUs
9 and 9 HSPUs

I was on a strict HSPU kick for a while and can get 30 unbroken, but going strict would push my time out.

30 unbroken strict hspu is legit!!
Dianne is one of my favorite girls
I break up the deads and hspu 11-10 and then do the rest of deads and hspu unbroken with a few seconds break between exercises

My overall shoulder pressing development is probably my top strength movement.

I’ve worked my max strict barbell press to 225, and I’m always in another gym 3-4 days a week working on strength training: chest, tris, shoulders, legs and back..

I may occasionally work in a bicep routine but we do so many pull-ups in CF that I rarely hit them separately anymore.

That sounds pretty smart.

I'll probably have to break up whatever shoulder movement too. My shoulders are weak.

I’m working with Matt Bruce on cleaning up both my snatch and clean technique this year.

I hope to add 40-50 lbs on each lift by the end of the year.

Diane is one of my favorites now. When I started doing CF a couple of years back, it was my least favorite.

If nothing else is to be gained, this...

This would actually pay off dividends with everything we are doing day in and day out.

My Diane #s

185lbs deadlift, 35lb DB push press

6:15

I was shooting for 5 minutes, dammit. The push press slowed me down a lot. Probably should've gone with 30s.

1st round I did 21 unbroken DLs and broke up push press into 12/9

2nd round I did 8/7 DLs and hit push press 3-4 reps at a time, so broke them up a lot and even put them down, ran over to grab 30s when coach said no, then ran back

3rd round I did 6/3 DLs, 7/2 Push press

I was at 6:20 Rx and it should have been lower.

I set up a barbell with 225 with no one around me and a few min later, there were 6 barbells near me who were all doing HSPUs; so I had to walk 50’ to an empty wall space and back between the DLs and HSPUs.

I should have made those scalers move.

The class was packed and the WOD was about to start so hurrying up and moving for me wasn’t an option.

Went
14-7 DL
21 HSPUs
8-7 DL
10-5 HSPUs
9 DL
9 HSPUs
