*the people not the germs

I joined a gym recently and the guy is drawing me up a fitness plan. He seems super smart but is very young.

These guys credible?

Show us the plan. Gym trainer alone means very little.

Drawing you up a plan may mean hitting print on the cookie cutter thing he gives anyone who comes in and has zero progressive overload.

Why not use one of the proven plans that we recommend here?

LINK

That is a good sample of many we recommend.

What are your goals? Do you have a diet you are following to achieve those goals? Let us know and we can link you to a plan proven and designed by one of the best in the world and macros to match your goals.

The gym staff at my gym don’t seem to know or care. Would not recommend.

He could be. But normally, I'd say no. But it all depends on where you're starting and what your goals are. Unless he sat you down and discussed your goals, training history, went over food intake, chances are he's giving you a very basic one size fits all program.

This is very important. That, plus did he generally seem knowledgeable, comfortable, experienced, etc.? If they sound intelligent when they speak about health topics and are asking you the right questions, that's usually a pretty good indicator that they are credible.
