It's genius really
There's a dentist office in my town that gives you malts after cleanings.

I think most people who say this have never actually been in a Planet Fitness. It is not ideal but if you can't get a good workout in there you do not know much about working out.

Definitely the best on in Lafayette. The one in Youngsville is pretty small.

This.
I use PF on top of my normal gym for days when I need to squeeze in a workout on my lunch break or if traffic is backed up on the way home. At $10/mo it's hard to beat. There's it free weight bar bells, if you're deciding between Anytime/PF/Snap, I doubt this is a deal breaker.
I was a member at Anytime, but there's not enough equipment there to justify paying $50 more per month than Planet Fitness.

Anytime has a deal for those who have Blue Cross health insurance, where the dues are $25 per month. It is through a 3rd party arrangement with Fitness Your Way.

I live in Youngsville and thought it looked small. My wife works on Kaliste Saloom and I"m on the road all day. I'm leaning towards Snap Fitness.

Planet fitness hands down and its not even close..
Even first Monday of the month...you get all u can eat pizza...pays for your membership right there.
...membership...10 bucks for basic....21 bucks for free tanning ,massage beds, all of gym and chairs and I can use any planet fitness on the 21 dollar option....best hands down
There are all types of people who go there, anyone who hates in planet fitenss has ties with another gym .... lol...planet fitness has more of everything u want hands down....and no its noy just fat people...more like beautiful people

I go to the Snap in Broussard across from Home Depot. No complaints. Plenty of equipment and spacious enough to do whatever you want.

Planet Fitness is the worst gym in the world. The other two are fine.

over the years, i've been with snap and planet and the Y (not local).
pick the one that has a location near your home AND (preferably) your work, if possible. if you work out before or after you work, pick something near work. if you work out at odd hours, pick one near your house.
convenience is the key. you won't want to go out of your way just to get to a gym that reviewed well on tigerdroppings.
eta side bar:
i like planet fitness and snap hours, and they have locations everywhere. both VERY CHEAP. planet does suck if you're a girl or plan on working out with one. the guys are gross and stare. they sweat on everything and never wipe their machines down when they finish. on weekends (when i assume management is gone)... there's either no spray bottles filled, paper towels littering the floors, toilet paper is shredded all over the bathroom floor... but planet gyms are large with lots of cardio options. the snaps i've seen are modest. they've been simple and not what you're going to get at a 'normal' large facility gym.
eta2:
not trying to be a dick... but shouldn't this thread be on the health/fitness board?

yeah, PF is closest to my house and there is another one by my office. It sucks as a gym, but it's right there. I told myself that I'll do PF for a year and if I stick with it I'll find a better gym.

GYMTIMIDATION!!!!! Surprised the lunk alarm didn't go off.

Didn't know we had one.
Now I see it.

Is it really? I feel like the people that join a gym and actually see results will be more likely to keep their gym membership forever than people who don't see results.

I don't know how someone would even consider one of those shitty strip mall gyms when reds is an option

This.
But not complaining. Thin the herd

I could understand if Reds was double the price but it's not even close
Posted on 6/9/17 at 8:49 am to yellowfin
Reds is in the heart of Lafayette. Not everyone has time to fight traffic to hit the gym.
Anytime fitness works for me. Usually frequent the Youngsville location and only time it's crowded is the 5 o'clock rush. There's one near my office too. Not the best gym but the convenience works for me.

convenience. Snaps are close to work and plentiful in the cities I frequent.
I'm not a poser, looking for a side piece or training for a show. I dont care about a swimming pool, or court sports, and I don't consider any "club" membership as a status symbol- except for Augusta National, of which I am not a member. So while a shitty strip mall gym may leave a lot to be desired, it serves its purpose.

Can I deadlift there? Then is doesn't have everything I want sorry. I understand if you wanting to burn calories and get tone then yeah it's probably alright. If you want to gain real strength then it's not the place to go.
