I 100% recommend running warehouse. Have used them for years. free 2-day shipping and 90 day returns. I've ordered up to 5 pairs at a time and sent back what didn't work. No questions asked.

Completely disagree. A serious bruh like OP needs to go check in with the shoe carnies next to Stage and get em some Nike shockz. That is if he’s rad enough.

You can find most models in that price range, especially if you look for the previous years models.

Jackrabbit always has several models on sale. You can usually find some in the $65 range. They currently have the Escalante 2’s For that price if anyone is looking.

Burt, what is your take on Escalante sizing? I wear 1.5 sizes larger in Altra The One than I do in most other shoes. Most of the reviews I come across say true to fit or go 1/2 size up, but I know that is too small for me in The One. I'm not sure whether to go with my known size in another Altra or whether I should go a little smaller based on reviews.

I typically wear an 11. I wear a 12 in Escalante original and 11.5 in Escalante 2.

Thanks to both of you. That helps. I usually wear a 9.5 or 10 but wear an 11 in Altra The One. Most of the review said true to size but there were few that said up 1/2 size or down 1/2 size. So, I think a 10 is a good bet for me. Glad I asked before I ordered.

Altra bummer. JackRabbit only had my size in the standard price of $130. Was going to consider pulling trigger on first Altra purchase at sale price, but the Reebok Forever Floatride's recently came in and got the "You really needed ANOTHER pair of running shoes?" treatment from the girlfriend.

Bought my first series of running shoes, starting to train for a 15k.

Bought these 3 and will try each to see which ones I prefer. May even keep 2 of the 3:

Saukony Echelon 7s (recommended by Fleet Feet when I went in for fitting)
Brooks Glycerin 18 (also recommended)
Altra Escalante 2s (from the sale posted here, figure I'd give them a try)
