at the Soldier Marathon in Ft Benning, GA. I gotta admit, I'm pretty nervous. I've run a few half marathons and even a 50k but that was on a mountain and a completely different thing as far as the pacing and constant effort goes. Doubt I'll get any sleep tonight.

Congrats man. It’s a fun time. I’ve done NOLA twice, Louisiana and New York. Each race was a different experience

Thanks. Don't see myself running multiple marathons... more of a bucket list thing. Shooting for 3 1/2 hours.

GL! I know what you mean, I'll take a trail race any day over a road marathon.

Good luck!

Maybe one day I’ll find the time to train for another road marathon

I always say I’ll never do another after each one, but I always get the itch to do another soon enougj

Good luck. I ran my first half last weekend. It had a lot of hills and sucked dog balls.

I never wanted to do a half in my life but after that I’m left wanting to try a marathon and Ultra before I die.

Best of luck. No need to be nervous.just go out and do what you can.
If you've set your sights on a 3:30, then pace yourself from the get go. That's an 8:00/mile pace. Just start off around this and do your best to maintain. Drink plenty of fluids and eat along the way.

wanted to go under 3:30, came in at 3:35. was really cruising at 7:50 pace the first 16 miles. i felt great, and in my head was thinking, "this isn't so hard". well come mile 20 i hit the wall. there is nothing more humbling than the last 10k of a marathon lol.

but all in all it was a great time. really a shame this is the last time soldier will be having the full marathon, but i'll be back for the half.
