1) I think I wanna add rowing to my workout as the cardio companion to weight lifting. I've been running for cardio, but it wrecks havoc with the lifting. And visa versa. Lifting makes my legs muscles tight. Too tight to run, no matter how much I stretch.

Will rowing be better? Will it not "fight me" so much with my lifting?

2) If I want to start rowing, I need to buy a rowing machine. The Concept 2 keeps showing up in the online recommendations. Is it good? Do I want something else?

concept 2 is the best rowing machine on the market. They are also the priciest. But hold their value, if you dont like you can sell online and only take about $100 loss.

I have a concept 2 model D with PM5 monitor.

Started rowing 2 years as part of my process. It's legit. It's become my favorite workout for a lot of reasons. Long 90 minute sessions, short 25 min. HIIT sessions. It works, and works well. Not for everyone, but I love it.

And yeah, I wouldn't get anything other than a Concept 2. Love mine.

We have a waterrower at my house, and love it. It tucks up against the wall in my living room, and doesn't look out of place at all. You can make it as hard a workout as you want. My only problem with it is that the feet are a little too close together.

My dad has a Concept 2. It is obtrusive, and I don't like the rowing action as much as mine. It just doesn't flow as well as water IMHO. His stays in the garage

Concept 2, buy it used. look at facebook marketplace. You can get them for $650-750, but they sell extremely quick. If you dont like it, sell it for the same price you paid.

They last forever and every crossfitter/Gym uses them so they are in high demand.

Not sure what your intended row workout is going to be. I do 5000m and 10,000m usually. if you are trying to do it for length of time/longer distance like I do, get a good fan and a TV to put in front of it. Buy the Iphone mount and the pad for the seat, they are dirt cheap
