So I decided to sell two of my beater bars I got a while back when I didn’t know what I was doing to finance a new bar. I didn’t over pay or anything, got one for free and paid 50 for the other one.

So had been up early researching and finally decided on the Ohio Power Bar in bare steel. Of course it was out of stock so I signed up my email and went to work on my basement. Darn if I don’t get an email like 3 hours later it’s in stock so now one is on the way...should go well with my 820 pounds of chipped and rusty standard barbell plates. Pretty excited...

It’s an excellent bar. Enjoy!

A member at my gym brought one in. I've only used it once (he has a lock on it) but it's awesome for heavy squats. Very stiff, almost no whip. The only thing I didn't like about it was it's a narrow bar so it barely fits in the rack which I found problematic when trying to rerack after a heavy set.

How so? Aren’t all bars a standard 7’ 2”?

Excluding some speciality elephant bar or something.

The car is same as every ipf or Olympic bar. It is but narrow.

The total length might me the same but the length between the sleeves is less. At least that's my best guess.

Well I don’t have it of course but according to Rogue, it is no different than my other bars and they have about 3 inches or so of clearance on either side of the sleeve. Will be fine. More bothersome is CHINA stamped into all my plates...

Nope. Not true all power bars are right at 51" - 52". Opb is 51.5" technically it's supposed to be 1310mm for all ipf bars.

I mean some bars like the Chan bar, are longer which gives a little more room but you are talking less than an 1" on each side.

But I have a tpb, regular Ohio, echo bar and others and all fit relatively close. But I also don't have the wider rogue rack either.

Because I'm a nerd I decided to look it up. Rogue's Power Bar is half an inch shorter than the standard Olympic bar per the Rogue website. The sleeve lengths are the same so I was wrong about that.

I love mine as well. I also have a Kabuki Strength Trap Bar HD that should be coming in sometime this month (ordered back in October).

My cheap belt I bought back when I first started powerlifting style workouts is on its last legs so I may be right there with you getting a new belt!

I'm thinking very seriously about these belts...Rouge uses them for some of their belts apparently...stock is low however.

Pioneer is supposedly great. Be wary of lever belts though. I’ve read that mechanically they are nice, it are more prone to breaking down compared to a simple prong belt.

That's a good point. I also like the pioneer cut and it's cheaper. They have 13mm but I think that is overkill for me. The 6.5mm/3in. would be great for my wife but I'm thinking 10mm/4in.

I would think 13 is overkill. Hell, 10 is more than enough for most people

I have the basic pioneer cut belt 4” wide and 10mm thick. Great belt. Probably last one I’ll ever buy.

Also use Alan Thrall’s discount code “untamed10” for ten percent off.
