Recommendations - Kettlebell routine
Anyone have any routines they recommend over others?

re: Recommendations - Kettlebell routine
I've been finishing leg day with kettlebell goblet squats until I feel more comfortable going heavier

Fairly simple and easy to keep good form

I get a lot of KB workout ideas off of Instagram. Check out Marcus Filly’s page.

I use KB swings to warm up and superset them between my upper body lifts to reach 6 sets of 20-25 swings in a workout. It's good posterior chain work that keeps my heart rate up and doesn't increase the length of my workout.

Simple and Sinister

This mixed in with some squats, rows, and halos makes for a good workout. The Turkish Getup is a great total body exercise.

Type in Kettlebell chaos on youtube. That workout is killer.

re: Recommendations - Kettlebell routine
Ryan Fischers 30 days of kettlebells is pretty bad ass. All his 30 days of Dbs can be done with KBs too.

a traditional routine of

vertical push/pull
horizontal push/pull
squat
hip hinge
carry

can be carried out with just kettlebells and a pullup bar. I am not a big fan of traditional KB flows like you see on youtube. Also not a huge fan of trukish getups but i am in the minority there.

in general I think something similar to Wendlers Kryptia would be the way to go where your heavy lifts are KB press, weighted/ring pushups, weighted chins, KB Rows and you superset in the traditional Kryptia lifts of

goblet or front rack squat
KB SLDL or KB Swings

Dips
Chins

finish with either carries or some kind each day.

This might be the first negative comment I've ever seen about this exercise. Any particular reasoning?

i personally feel like to do it right it takes a lot of coordination and practice to reep any benifits and imo it is hard for them to teach themselves how to do it properly.

maybe its bias on my part too as it doesnt really help aesthetics nor strength in the big lifts nor huge carry over to athletics imo

I will say I do think the lift is particularly useful for those in the 60s and beyond to be able to get better at getting up. Heavy arse sled drags walking backwards is better to prevent falling, but TGU is usefull.

TLDR: i dont hate the lift, just not a huge fan.
