Been on Keto for 3 weeks now and I feel so much better and have boundless energy. I had gotten up to 280 and was the fattest I’ve ever been. I’m ashamed I let it spiral down that badly. My busy job schedule and two young kids have made it difficult but enough is enough.

I’m keeping my daily caloric intake below 1,600 cals by also doing 16:8 IF and not attempting to reach fat grams as a goal. Rather, I’m eating delicious protein and green veggies, and if the protein is fatty, well sobeit. It’s just more delicious. I’m also very creative in the kitchen so this is not a bore.

For exercise I’m doing 45 minutes of cardio a day and pushups/squats one day a week. When I get to a much better weight and am happy with the fat loss, I’m going to start a heavy lifting regimen.

Haven’t stepped on the scale yet because I hate getting caught up in numbers, but I’d venture to say I’m down about 20 lbs.

That's awesome, post in this thread for accountability.

Question though, why not start lifting now? Studies show you have the ability to build muscle and lose fat at the same time in cases like yours. It will only help, not hurt.

Yeah, I know and I will slowly incorporate lifting in. It’s coming soon. I want to get some cardio in first for heart health and lowering my blood pressure first. Trust me, I can’t wait to lift.

I checked in on Friday as I knew we had dinner last night and wanted to check in before then.

Weighed 192 which puts me right around 15%.

Avatar said I lost too fast so they raised my macros to

P/C/F
227/204/48 @2156 calories. I will still fast two non lifting days prolly but will keep these macros next week if I lose.

I started greyskull gladiator phase 1 today and plan to run it the full 12 weeks no.matter what.

Well I have mentioned in here before how when I eat more than 100g of carbs a day I tend to get a really upset stomach if it's not from hbcd no matter how clean I keep the carbs.

Well been following Avatar and have the setting to high carbs and my stomach has been upset every time I eat for 3 weeks now. I just can not do it even when I keep my carbs very clean.

So I am going to suffer through this week because I already prepped my meals, but I am moving to much lower carbs after this week. Prolly be in the 75-100g range on lift days, 25g on non lift days. Because of this I am going to just go back to mfp after my month is up. Avatar is not flexible enough to allow that level of difference in macro cycling.

If I don't do this, I might have to find a new place to live as my wife might kick me out and my toilet just hates me.

The other issue I am having, which is not abnormal, is cravings for sweets. J haven't been giving in really, but it's the point.

I will not go keto as if effects my strength too much, but will keep the carbs much lower.

Anybody else have this issue?

Not I. My gut has been really happy since kicking keto. I notice several things that tell me my body is happier.. I'm much more regular, things move like they're supposed to, gas doesn't reek most of the time, and an odd one... my armpits REEKED while on keto. No deodorant could hold me back.. by noon I was having to re-apply deo. Now I could put some on in the morning and last til the next day no problem.

All of that is TMI but F it

I am the exact opposite. Stomach hurts, farts reek, bowel movements are liquid. Sucks.

Damn. No way would I do keto if I had to deal with all of that. Low carb agrees with me, thankfully. Zero odor issues (as far as I can tell. I hope.), helps migraines, and I’m never hungry. Down 11 lbs in 18 days.

Yeah the negatives outweighed the positives for sure.

My scale has had me at about 252.5 all week.. which would be a loss of 3lb. Expected when getting back into a deficit.

Check-in day. Average weight was 253, loss of 1.5lb. Avatar kept my macros the same.

My physical weight this morning was 251.5. The lowest I've ever seen as an adult was 250.. so close!

How’ve you been, LBT? I had a couple of lightheaded moments my first week back on keto. It reminded me of the days when we’d embrace the fainting feelings as a sign that we were going to be so thin

Are you still in Texas?

Hulk that's awesome.

Well I switched to 75-85g carbs from fruit and hbcd on lift days and green veggies only on non lift days.

Happy to report no more gas, no more bathroom issues. Gonna run about 6-8 weeks like this. Then I am going to slowly, very slowly add one food at a time, starting with white rice, then potatoes then sweet potatoes so on and so fourth to see what carbs cause me stomach distress.

So far protein and fats are all good as are the following

Kerrygold Dubliner cheese
Avocados
Watermelon
Kiwi
Strawberries
Blueberries
Pineapple
Baby spinach
Purple onions

Gonna try some mushrooms tonight and see how that works.

Haven't checked weight yet but I feel awesome compared to what I did.

Yeah man, no idea how. Haven't been tracking food at all. Only been lifting 1-2 times per week.

Starting a new position next week that'll allow me to be way more active and make it easier to get homework and workouts in throughout the entire day. Gonna be awesome.
