I know this has been discussed before (net carbs and all that good stuff), but I am going back to Keto and looking for recommendation for a different bar...I have done the Julian bakery, quest bars, etc. Anyone know of a good grass fed, high fat, low carb bar? I know that may be asking a lot, but I appreciate any input. Thanks, everyone..

Can you just precook and Chow down on some chicken thighs?

Might want to look into epic bars
They have grass fed beef, bison, turkey, lamb, and a host of other things including beef tallow and duck fat.
LINK
ETA: Below is the direct link to all the bars

Looks like they have a lot of interesting products but I haven't personally tried. I learned about them a couple days ago and am somewhat curious.

Only 7g of protein in the Bison bars. Low carbs, low protein.

The 2 chicken ones have 15 g of protein
Those are the highest protein ones they make

Didn't Epic start putting sugar in a bunch of their bars when General Mills bought them out? Maybe they stopped. But I definitely checked the labels in the store one day and verified.

I saw the chicken that were 15g of protein, but it’s only 100 calories per bar and lots of sodium.
Anyone ever tried the Pottentia bars? 310 calories, 14 fat, 20/21 protein, but 22 net carbs....They have great reviews on amazon for the taste.

Just ordered another box of Oh Yeah! bars. Love me some carbs

The Epic bars look awesome, but $30? That’s a lot for bars.
ETA: Just saw that it’s a box of 12. That’s actually not bad.

i have cut back on the bars. I really don't buy them any more. i got permanently sick of quest and the costco version. and as many have noted, good bars are often not really that good and are expensive. I'll grab a box of Think Thins when they're on sale (under $1 a bar), but they aren't all that great for you.
I've been just cooking a whole pack of uncured bacon for breakfast and munch on it until its gone. Throw some in a ziplock for on the go. I do this about every other day.
I also keep boiled eggs (do them in a pressure cooker for easy peeling), avocados (or guac cups from costco), various cheeses (including cheese sticks when on the go), and Duke's Links on board + macadamia nuts, pecans, almonds, and 85%+ dark chocolate (I'll do a trail mix with all that and Whisps). Wash down with some Milkadamia.
I'll throw some olive oil on the avocado/guac and/or do a shot of MCT/coconut oil. If I dip the bacon in peanut or almond butter, i just take a krill oil capsule to counterbalance the Omega 6 w Omega 3.
these items are all portable, easy and fast and much cheaper (and healthier) than bars. you can get plenty of protein if that's your goal and lots of satiating good fats if you're a keto-er. I am in no way concerned about sodium (except to make sure I'm getting enough when in ketosis), but if you are, then it's very easy to control with the right mix of this stuff (you'd need to get low sodium bacon and unsalted nuts I guess, but again, who cares about sodium?)
Throw in some broccoli sprouts and curcumin and you could seriously live very well on this stuff out in the wilderness (I'm always planning for that day when i say f it and just go live in the woods).
All that said, if you find a truly good, affordable bar that meets your criteria, let us know, because they are nice when you're running late or just need something very easy on the go.

If you got Costco, they have some good bars with 4 net carbs per bar. LINK
ETA: They have several flavors if you don't care for that one.

quote:Yes. GM ruined the best ones - bacon and salmon - by adding tons of sugar. If you are low carb, essentially your only two options remaining are the chicken and the venison. Very disappointing.

quote:I've mentioned on here before that I suspect those numbers are BS. I've read plenty of reviews where people measuring their blood sugar say that the fiber number is a lie - they are getting full blood response as if it were the 28g or whatever. Plus, I like to avoid things with that many ingredients.
