Oak Tree Day 3

Short day at 55 min, but VERY arm heavy. OHP, Big 33s, overhead extensions, and then DB tricep kickbacks. Even with light weight I was feeling the burn.

Previewing tomorrow, I'll probably be glad today was short.

That Drop Set Party was something.

Pretty quick, about 50 minutes but man the burn on those last sets. Especially the squat and bench. My quads are still burning an hour later.

Now I need to find one for tomorrow. The tough part is finding one without squats.

Sport strength day 3

I’m spent. Working out after supper is horrible. Made this workout way harder than it should be

Yeah that’s tough. Empty stomach and a pre workout gets me going.

Long one today. Took me 78 minutes.

My 85% rep on deadlifts was TM to start Deadcember. Felt light today.

I wanted to get some time on the stair stepper after, but I had to run home and shower.

Oak Tree Day 4

Should just be called 'Deadlift Day' in the plan. 7 sets of plain deadlifts and 3 sets of snatch deadlifts. Overall good day. Right at 70 min. Only small gripe is I felt the % on the snatch deadlifts was a little low.

I’ve complained about the #reps being too high on snatches but never that they were too light. Maybe if it were somehow so low I wasn’t loading 45s so the RoM got deeper? I’d just do 135 then though :). For me snatch-grip deads just feel like the most punishing cardio exercise possible. They are the burpees of weightlifting I guess.

My TM might be too low. I'm pretty new to weights and probably need to check it again. Weight and reps weren't an issue. Now hitting my shin repeatedly, that sucked.

Deadcember had the best guide to set your TM. IIRC, He said to do sets of 3 until you couldn't hit 3 reps. Mine ended up being spot on.

One of the guys who spotted me for bench said the same thing. "Don't count it unless you get 3 reps"

Do you recall what % of current max he started with?

I think he in both the Squatober and Deadcemeber programs they recommend to start with 90% of your 1 rep max.

But the Deadcemebr definitely stated on the first day to start with sets of 3 until you couldn't get 3 and that what was the max you worked with. He did have little things through both months that if you hit certain reps then you coudl increase it by 5-10%.
