5 months post surgery. Laparoscopic procedure.
Nothing like the pain pre-surgery but I have a continued tightness and light discomfort. Makes me tentative to push exercise or certain activities.
Has anyone else experienced this? I don’t want to go to doctor for nothing. Thanks

I had hernia surgery in April of 2025, and that tightness lasted for a few months for me. It still occasionally will feel a little tight.
Get it check out, of course, but I don't think you have to worry too much as long as its not bruising or bleeding.

Yes, go see the doctor. It’s not a “Don’t want to go to the doctor for nothing” issue when it comes to a hernia.
You don’t want blood flow stopping in this area.
Go to the fricking doctor.
I’ve had two Inguinal hernias.

I had some tightness for a while, I believe it was scar tissue continuing to break up. Went away after a few months.

I found out that I had a hernia about 12 years ago but hasn’t bothered me so haven’t done anything yet.
I’ve heard countless stories in those 12 years about routine surgeries having problems. Makes me wonder if really that frequent or if I just notice them more. Now leaning toward doing nothing as long as possible.

I didn’t have anything protruding. When it started I just had intense pain. First thought was maybe kidney stones.
All my doctors are women and I was a little reluctant to have them feel all around and not find any lump in that area.
I know most surgeries will have a little lingering effect.
Still haven’t had the guts to start back sit-ups. May never.

Man, you gotta get over it. Surgery sucks. Recovery sucks. But a collection of injuries is the price we pay for not having sat around on our asses.

Mine lasted almost 2 years.
Every so often I still get a slight feeling of tightness down there, especially after exercise.
Was told by a surgeon years ago that it is normal, especially when mesh repair is involved.

Thanks.
One day I don’t notice it at all and the next it feels tight with a little discomfort. Nothing I can’t live with but just want to make sure it doesn’t reoccur.

I recently bailed on a inguinal hernia surgery so thanks for validating my worries! I struggled for almost a year after a vasectomy so I'm probably prone to worse case scenarios. Hope you get to feeling better
