That's my issue. I've been eating healthy for nearly 7 years and I've only been able to get to 18% body fat. I went back up to 22% due to a variety of reasons and in last 4 or 5 months, I can't get past 22%. The only thing I can think of is I do too much cardio, but I was running 5 miles 6 times a week when I got down to 18%. I am 44 so that probably has something to do with it and loose skin is a huge problem. I was told that CLA was supposed to help with both. It's relatively inexpensive, so I'm trying that now too.

Are you lifting consistently? Weight training will make you look better and have a positive effect on your metabolism (even more so than cardio).

I have been for the past 18 months or so. I use resistance bands for curls, rows and what I call back flies. I have seen better results with that over just workout videos and cardio. The problem is that at 44 I hurt myself about once every 5 or 6 months not even doing anything different. That was the whole point of switching to the bands, so I wouldn't have to bend over to pick stuff up. It sucks getting old.

TigerLunitik - You are being dishonest by omitting context. I was referring specifically to LSU's failure to provide an area and a sufficient number of machines for receivers to easily get 100 minimum Jugs reps daily - 365 days a year (like the Big Boys do).

Getting old has nothing to do with if you should switch to bands. Go read barbell medicine.

Not your particular issue and how to fix it

Stop doing so much cardio, you should be doing conditioning, hard conditioning for 10-15 min 3 or so times a week.

Follow a proper barbell program, I suggest greyskull aesthetics template or kinobody Greek god program. Whatever program you choose, just make sure you follow progressive overload principles and get stronger.

Start counting your macros. I highly suggest Avatar nutrition. RO is another but much more strict program. If you don't wanna pay, using the leangains calculator on musclehacking and plugging those into MyFitnessPal works too.

Do the above, hit your macros, and give it 4 months of consistently doing that and you will see the results you want.

I didn't bring it over. TigerLunitik brought it over in his signature line.

BTW, do you think weight rooms should be available by appointment only? And with hours of lead time required? That's what is required of LSU's receivers to get access to Jugs machines.

I've always done this. I used MyFitnessPal for years until I got a FitBit. I'm usually 2500 in and between 3000-4000 out. 17-25% carbs, 20-30% fat usually from peanut butter and peanuts. I get 50% protein sometimes, but usually at least 40%.

I would never have lost weight without counting calories.

I've always had lower back problems so I try to limit how much I have to bend over to pick up weights. As I said before, I workout at home by myself with modest equipment. Utility bench, dumbbells and an assortment of resistant bands. I also have a pull up bar, but I hate pull ups. I need to do them more often.

Thanks to everyone for all of the help here. I greatly appreciate it.

Not sure of TD's rules, but most sites do not allow you to call out other posters by name in titles and signature lines. But if you want to continue trolling the subject, TigerLunitik...

Weight training burns calories up to 36 hours after your session.

Do proper warmups and cool downs. Try ice baths for post workouts.

I'd try everything to make weight training easier on my body. but its the best for fat burning.

Agree x1000. Its gonna be hard but I would spend a few weeks working on flexibility/mobility, then start an established lifting program, and start very light, even if its just bodyweight squats and light deadlifts.

I had to goto Albertsons to pick up a prescription so I did my body fat on their machine. They have 2 settings, one you pick if you're an athlete, body builder or training for a marathon. Not picking that I was at 17.4, when I did it again and selected that option it was 13.8. I never know what to select since I usually run 6 miles 6 days a week.

Those don't work. How hard is that for you to understand?

It's the only ones that I have access to. So, that's what I have to go by. I'm assuming it's all somewhere in the middle. I don't think that is a difficult concept to understand either.
