I've been out of the baby business for a LONG time, but what's the rationale behind that number?

1.5 hours is usually when i start bringing food/fluids. i usually run fasted in morning, but will eat a banana or toast with peanut butter if it's a longer effort.

That makes sense, I think i started around a year old. twins? that will be brutal as they get heavier, hills and wind suck
That said, it's pretty fun running with them. All mine does is eat and point at dogs

The wind was a killer with the double wide I used to run with. Great workout and kept them happy though. Downhill gets kinda sketchy too, it'll pull you big time.

Still doing the zone 2 crap. Found a flat gravel track near the house that’s easy in the feet and it’s flat enough to make it easy to maintain HR. HR 127 for 8 miles today. Starting VO2 sessions next week. Mainly sprint intervals.

First half completed! “Cold” at the BMW Dallas half turned out to be amazing!
Ended up running a total of 13.4 miles in 1:49:12 (8:09 pace) according to my watch should be top 20% for 20-29 males. Pushed myself hard, that was so much fun not running by yourself!

That’s great time for your first, congrats!
What training program did you use?

The 14 week training on the Nike Run Club app. Scaled it to 3-4 runs a week, prioritized 1 speed run, 1 mid range recovery run, and 1 long run per week.

2nd Full Completed

Wheels fell off at mile 22 but overall I'm very happy with the results (considering this time puts me well above "average" now AND I ran the first 20 miles fast enough to still meet my stretch goal by the end)
From everything I've read my progress going forward will probably be a little slower than it was from April until now (I mean, this was like a 44 minute PR...) and am going to shoot for a slightly sub-3:40 finish at the Marathon I've signed up for in April.
I think the biggest thing standing in my way of it will be a lighter training plan between now and March because I'm switching to running 3 days a week so I can do weight training for the Trifecta I'm taking on in March (though I will probably do a modified 3 day with a 4th day Sunday run when I can... so who knows).

Not THAT flat gravel track.

I've considered the Black Creek race. I may run it as a tune up. Think my target race will be the Bridge Street race in Huntsville. I've finally conquered the nueroma that I had gotten in my left foot, passed a nagging calf injury, and just being sick. Put me behind my target of Feb to be ready.

Good luck, hopefully it's as good as it's hyped up to be. I did the Boston or Bust race (which is also run by Running Lane) and it was kinda disappointing with the aid stations... though that could be because of how inexpensive BoB is and is a very "minimalist" event.
Hopefully Running Lane is better than BoB was typically, and like I said it's just because BoB is so inexpensive they have to cut back on some things.
btw for the future - if you want to run a Half Marathon I would very VERY much recommend the Rocket City Front half, that sucker was awesome. (the full was amazing as well, but the first half ended and were instantly given a breakfast buffet

Did a little jingle bell run today. 5K charity race. I looked at the route beforehand and decided this wasn’t the course to go ‘racing’. Good call on my part. I took my little dog out for her first race and was just gonna go as fast as she wanted to go.
How does a 5K get over 400’ of climb and manage to be uphill for 2.75 miles of a 3.25 mile loop? It would appear we defeated the laws of physics somehow…. Anyway, the dog and I paced at 8:30/mile which I was extremely pleased with. This pace included a stop for another dog standing in the middle of the street and a brief slowdown around mile 2.8 to take a dump in the road (the dog, not me).
Not many people in this one (150) and not many runners. Came in the top 10 overall and won my age group easily.

Week 3 past Marathon and this is my first week I'll post 30+ miles again. So far I'm feeling good, most of my soreness is from adding weights to my workout and not the leg muscles themselves. (doing a Spartan trifecta in March *Atlanta* so I'm working on a lot of upper body muscles since... I can't even currently do a pull-up
)
Created the new Marathon plan last week (going for a sub-3:30 in April) and it's got me doing a few 50+ mile weeks, things are about to get serious.
I might end up being a pacer for the Railway Marathon, we shall see, would be kinda cool.

Nice! Looks like a good forecast for y’all. Have to come back and report your thoughts. I’m thinking about adding that one to my list

Pain in my calf at the first half mile today, and I mistakenly assumed it would work itself out. Once I figured out it was going to stay and hurt more (1.5 miles from home), I decided to keep jogging vs. walk back in the 24 degree weather. Hobbling around now. Why can't I just remember that I'm old sometimes. Hoping it's not a tear, hurts less now than earlier. Back middle of calf, not front so not a shin thing.

Continued training question. I've got my half marathon this weekend and afterwards start tri training (mostly swimming). Is it ok to continue doing one run per week of like 10-12 miles? Or do I need to include a shorter run mid week?
