Turn 50 in Feb.
I'm on a slow mileage build. Hope to be at 50 miles per week by 11/12. That will mean running in the mornings to get there. Started this Sunday with 3 and this morning with another 3. Guess I'll be running twice a day some days. My problem isn't getting the run time in, it's getting the gym time in.

Starting my 16 week training today for the Louisiana Marathon. I ran two full marathons in 2022 so I needed a little break. I am only running the half in January but my goal is to PR and to finish around 1:30. Looking forward to getting back to the grind!

Finished my 1st 100 miler this morning just before 6am (22:49). Feet are wrecked but it was worth it.

I cream just thinking about running in this. Especially after this summer of hell.
Has anyone tried the Boston 12 yet? The lightsrike pro in the adios pro 3 is easily my favorite midsole foam I’ve tried so far. I’m wondering if the slab of it in the Boston 12 gives it a similar sort of bounce, albeit a bit more tame. I’ll be needing a new daily trainer soon.

Base pace on 14 miles this AM for a total of 29 for the week. Average HR 153.

Question.
Building my mileage up to 60/week. Started at 22 miles and have gone 22, 24, 26, and 29 this week. I think most plans step back a week. What does this look like? Should I do 26 this week and then 33 next week?

I take easy weeks by feel when increasing mileage. Usually every 4-5 weeks. I usually increase 4-6 miles each week and my easy week would be about 20-30% less than the previous week. Its probably a bigger drop that most would need. I am usually in the 50-75 mile range so sometimes I need a break from the high mileage grind

Started back full fledge training this week. Have a half in Salina, Ks. coming up first Saturday of November then running the OKC full in April. Hoping to make a run at sub 2:40 at OKC.

You are probably fine doing that. I’d worry more about pace and not pushing too hard.

I’m 80/20 using HR zones. It takes all the guess work out of pacing and as long as you can set your ego aside, staying in zone is easy.

From couch to 3 weeks into the 14-week nike run club half marathon training I ran my first 10k ever yesterday morning at an 8:50 pace. Looks like I have another 10k this coming up weekend. I dont have a watch or anything to help maintain my pace which is where I am finding the most difficulty. I speed up and slow down and speed up and slow down all based on feel where I wish I could just find a groove to maintain so that it would feel more natural instead of the mind games.

This is why I love running on heart rate. I can just set my HR zone and run.

Houston peeps: what're some of y'all's favorite spots to run?
i live near buffalo bayou and memorial park and walk/run those frequently. Wondering if there are any other favorites i need to check out

pretty hard to beat Memorial and BB, IMO. I live near white oak bayou around 11th so I tend to run around there into the heights or up to TC Jester Park.
Rice Loop and Herman is shaded if you are looking for a change of pace.

7 easy miles this AM at a 145 HR. 24 miles for the week in a step back week. Ramping back up next week. Felt amazing out there today.

Pushed the stroller for 14. Probably the best run I’ve ever had. This weather kicks arse

Having some pain after my long run today about 2” above my outer ankle bone. Only hurts when I flex my foot up or down. Any idea what tendon/muscle that is and do I just stretch it or lay off for a bit? Not agonizing pain, annoying and acute.
