I come from a weightlifting background, so these exercises are second nature. Will definitely implement them. You got some extra time on your hands I can get to do all of this? Ha
I am doing it myself.
Let me know how it works out for you. I don't have a race like that in my sights anytime soon, but it would be nice to know for the future.

Come run the niagara falls or the cape cod marathon with me. I'm debating between the two. Niagara falls is the one I want to do the most but it ends at the falls in Canada and I'm not sure if they'll have eased on up on their restrictions by then. Niagara is on Oct 24 and cape cod on Halloween. Both look awesome.. also very flat courses with nice scenery.

Not really. Only to add that I honestly felt on the edge of being out of giving out if that makes sense. My perceived effort felt way harder than I expected. Maybe I'm reading too much into the need to have consistent pacing vs reaching a goal no matter the circumstances.
I was less than a minute away from my goal time and I didn't injure myself. That is success in my eyes, but if I think back on how I felt, it seems as though my fitness isn't yet where I want it to be.

Man, I just checked my calendar and I'm booked for a race that same day. Mountain Goat 10 miler in Syracuse.

It's a weird distance but it's also a popular event. Usually it happens the first weekend in May but it was pushed to Fall due to Covid. The stats aren't that bad- 10 miles and 565 feet of elevation gain.

does anybody due any stair workouts?
I have a place near work that I could do stairs, but was just wondering if someone had something a little more structured than just running up them till I die

8 week break done...I stayed active at the gym , lost a couple pounds, and am ready to get back out.
Running by feel for the time being and I'm confident I can still hit my 2021 half goal of under 1:50:00.

I wish dude! I'm kinda handcuffed on when I can take off of work to travel and race. I already had a couple weeks off around Thanksgiving, so a race around that date is about all I'll be able to travel to. Those both sound awesome though. Training for an October Marathon doesn't!

This wasn't directed at me but I have no clue what it means. My eyes go cross when I try to make sense of it.

10k race this morning...7:48/mi...damn good pace for me.

Haha, autocorrect and not proofreading a post will do that. I believe I meant to say I was on the edge of burning out or giving up. Me from a year ago would have stopped to walk a bit and then try to get back into it.

Good job! Splits? Or are you on Strava?

I am.
My splits via Garmin, which always seems to run a little slower than Strava.
7:57
8:00
8:02
7:56
7:37
7:41
7:16/mile for the last little bit
I was hanging back with some slower runners at the start, but then caught view of a guy off in the distance and made it my mission to catch and pass him. I did with about .5 miles left. I finished inside the top 15% of the field.

I share this sentiment and it'll be tough training in the louisiana heat but ill feel like a beast when I get up there in that perfect weather I would think .

Starting back up tomorrow. Not planning on racing until fall. Goal is to build a huge base this spring/summer
