Ha, history says this wouldn't be kind to BnG. It's hot out there!

Run with me tomorrow morning?

I would but treadmills tend to bore me. On the real though, I just did my LR for the week and was only planning on strength stuff and 2.5 tomorrow to round out my 25 for the week.

Man, I felt crappy this morning. I cut my run in half. Hopefully, I feel better tomorrow.

Tweaked my back yesterday playing golf. Hoping I can get out of bed tomorrow and walk at least. May not be running until Sunday.

Humid but still not as bad as home.

This weeks has been more stressful at work, and I haven't slept well. Those factors have been a bigger negative impact on my running this week than the weather has.

How in the hell do we have distance runners getting golf injuries? Take care, man.

How many hours do you get a night to consider it “slept well”? Just curious. I work shift work from time to time, so my sleep can be all over the place.

I do best with about 8 hours a night. I've probably averaged 5-6 a night this week. I'll be 45 next month. I don't handle sleep loss nearly as well as I used to.

Agreed on all points but 45, eh. Knocking on 40 here. How's the Fall race schedule looking your way?

Not very promising, but I'm not all that cracked up about it. I'll just use the extra time to build a better base. When races start up again, I'll be ready from some PRs.

Run group was either 10 or 15 this AM. Too hot and humid for that 15 bullshite.

Paced the 10 faster than I normally would. 9:05 over the 10 with my last mile as one of my best. We took plenty of water stops today. Hoping all this distance work in the heat pays off at some point.

Looks like I may finally have a race to run in August.

Turns out, I have to go to a wedding that day.

There are 2 running clubs in my area who are the dominant race organizers.

Didn’t stretch properly, hit a shot fat on the 4th hole, felt a sting, ignored it, and 4 hours later I was in real pain.

Feels 100x better today. Probably could have gotten out on the road but decided to rest it another day.

Today's run included a couple of fails. Got up & out at a decent time, planned for 12 miles. Ate an Rx Bar and drank some water before going out. Things were normal.

About a mile in I remembered I didn't poo before the run. I thought I could tough it out. I thought about all the places I might be able to go along the way. I wasn't wearing a shirt and I didn't bring a mask, so any public facilities were out of the question. I saw one porta potty along the way, but by the time it was needed it was too late to go back. I called for backup and made it home before anything forced its way out.

Today's run ended up being 6.75 miles at a 9:00 pace, well short of the 12 miles I planned. Maybe I'll finish the other 5.25 later today.

Welp, tried running this morning and that was a big no. Think I have a sciatica issue. The pain is centralized on the left side of my lower back. It’s sharp and does cause a tingling down my left leg.

Dr tomorrow to confirm and maybe get some muscle relaxers. At this moment, running is not an option and I’m bummed.
