Also--any good suggestions for a full marathon program out there?
I just decided on the Higdon Novice 2 plan. I modified it slightly as I already have a good base mileage going for me. I'm basically starting from Week 7, going up to the 20 miler, adding a 22 mile run, and then repeating that up to taper.

Thanks. I will check it out. Plan to get something in place this week to start for next week.

My name is 3nOut and I still run occasionally.
Worst week stretch of running, eating, and my professional career. Had a job that went south and spent 70+ hours the last week in one of two rooms... not including 6x3 hour trips in the car.
To explain how bad it was... the one day I did run while there, I did a 4 miler at 5 AM. Went and showered and showed up on the job site at 7:30 AM with 8400 steps. Left that night at midnight with 8700 steps.
Needless to say, this morning’s run was rough.

What’s a good warm up pre race plan? Let’s say it’s for a 5 or 10k. I’ve read mostly nice jog for a mile or two, then stretch. Maybe a few quick sprints. Anyone have any other recommendations?
I’m trying to treat my body better and stop just going out and running.

Got some damn good rep work in on the track today. 8 X 200, 4 X 400 all at mile pace 5:42-5:57. Last 400 was 5 flat. Took advantage of the overcast/drizzle. A welcomed change from the oppressiveness.
Someday soon when I’m feeling good/rested I’d like to set a mile PR on the track,

29:21 4 mile race this morning. Hot as frick. So I held back a little unsure how much to conserve. Had a lot left. I sprinted the last 100m and nobody touched me.

You people that insist on running races in the dead of summer are crazy.
I've also realized that Justin Gatlin is my frickin spirit animal. Watching him kick arse at my age is amazing.

It is impressive. Saw him edge out Lyles.

On the ride through crew at work due to Barry, so had to get my 7 on the treadmill today. The workout equipment is overlooking our control room, so it was added motivation to see the sedentary slugs stuffing their faces with cookies and melting into the internet.

OK I finally broke down and joined Strava. Is there still a Tigerdroppings club? How do I find it?

I didn’t decide to do the 9+1 for NYC Marathon qualification until May so I pretty much have no choice sadly. I have a 7 miler in a few weeks that will be brutal.

Thanks. My runs are going to look wonky and all over the place. When I run with my SO the pace tends to be around 11-12/min, and when I run by myself I'm closer to 8:30-8:45/min. Tomorrow is the Boilermaker 15k so we'll see what my race pace looks like.

Are you tapering right now?
Posted on 7/14/19 at 12:39 pm to 1999
Nah. Down week for recovery. Cross training with the bike. I'm going to take Monday completely off and get back to it this week.
3-4 up one down seems to be working for me right now.

I’ve been out of internet range for 4 days. Still running but haven’t seen too much news till I got back in range.
Roots, TD, you ok baws? Praying for y’all.
