Good luck to anyone lining up today. I know the Amazing races are taking place in BR.

No 5k for me this morning.
I hit myself in the eye/face with a lure yesterday while fishing and I have a patch over my eye and the doc said I can’t do any hard physical activity for a few days.
My luck

Deezam! Did the hook get you or just the bait itself?

Luckily the hook didn’t get me. No idea how considering it was a chatterbait with a big exposed hook.
I was hung in a tree, jerked hard to free it, and it came right back at me. Hit me right in the eye/cheek area. I was completely blind in my right eye for about 2 hours, which scared the frick out of me. They think I fractured my lower socket.
Still a little fuzzy this morning, but I can see color and shapes, so it’s coming back now. Sore as hell though.
Could have been a lot worse.

Ran my 10 K this morning. Hot, humid, and windy but I managed. Finished in 47:53 which is a personal best so I’m pleased, but it was behind where I have been running over the past few weeks. Thanks to everyone on this board for the running advice/information that is shared.

Mazel Tov. What's your next goal?
Posted on 3/9/19 at 9:25 am to BurtReynoldsMustache
I would like to continue to improve my 5K/10K times but I’ve also been thinking about running a 1/2 marathon next year.

Finished up my first half marathon this morning. My training slacked off big time the last month due to various reasons. Wanted to break 3:00. I would be really happy if I got 2:45. I finished 2:45:29. I'm happy. I had to walk a decent bit after mile 9. Started getting really dizzy. If I work on it, I can probably hit 2:30.

That’s awesome Scoob, hell of a job.
Is Garmin/Connext messing up for anyone else??

My Garmin didn't give me the green light on GPS today, but talked to connect fine.

Great job scoob. Super proud of you finishing that sucker man.
I had a less than good day. I felt great and on pace for 8 miles and then the wheels fell off. I wish I could blame it on the travel but my legs were just not having it at all. Fell mile 3 and never really got all the way right after that.
No excuses. Still finished top 30 and have the fitness to do better. Had a lot of fun and know I need to work on my long runs more.
Let none of that take away from scoob’s kickass day.

Yes. San Angelo State park. Sheaux said he was running to but I didn’t hear from him before the race.

Super glad he didn't give up.
What was the elevation change on that 25K today?

Appreciate it guys. And I appreciate y'all of you guys on here killing it, which inspired me to get the half under my belt. Especially all is y'all's encouragement during training, and when I was considering not doing the half.
All of you guys rock, I appreciate the encouraging environment in this thread, and I look forward to continue contributing to that yearly Strava group mileage total.

445 foot total gain. I do more than that on a loop at my local trails. Just a couple of short ascents.

Big congrats to Scoob and 3NO on your races
Waited out the storms here, now ready to go get a few miles in. Tornado warnings earlier, now 70 and sunny. Crazy but I’ll take it
