I do get unflavored. tastes like dirt but i add enough other things to overcome that, most importantly the honey and peanut butter.

Seems like your carb intake may be a bit low. I’d double up your lunch and dinner rice servings if ya can.

That morning shake is wild.

Damn. Look like a straight up killer in that picture. Good luck to you man. My advice to you would be to embrace the process. You said you love to lift, so fall back on that. Forget about what was or what could be and just focus on the work and enjoy the process. Everyday is a new day, and you GET to work on yourself. It’s a privilege, not a burden to have the opportunity to get back in shape. Keep that chin up, and get some.

that shake is life, bro. i'm a big believer in the body getting protein from a variety of sources, the more the better...hence the egg and peanut butter in addition to the pea protein. i figure i'm rolling about 55-60gs protein in each shake, and not all of it is digested at the same rate. the other stuff is just added natural nutrition and fiber. shite keeps me sated through the morning so there's no temptation to snack on bullshite through lunch.

motherfricker will cleanse your colon, too...trust me.

shoulder presses and cable delt extensions yesterday for the first time in over 8 years....slow, deliberate, light weight. extremely grateful i can do the movements, but good lord it feels alien. it's about as close to a physical out of body experience that i can image.

but...simply doing them is huge progress. part of my goal here is to build up my delts to support the joint, as well as take some of the pressure off the joint when it comes to certain lifts.

down 2.5 lbs over the past two weeks, and it's bad weight that's gone. so happy there, too.

again, appreciate all the advice and support, as well as being an ear to hold myself accountable. i lift alone...always have...and given where i was and where i'm at now, i honestly get a bit self-conscience. it's a good reminder of where we all were when we started this journey, and a reminder to be encouraging and uplifting to anyone who is new to fitness. being able voice where i'm at here, and have the encouragement from you all, is motivating as frick.

so thank you...

finally getting my groove back…shoulder pressing 70 lbs, DB press up to 85 lbs x 10 x 3, dropped 36 lbs and getting ripped again at 56 y/o after getting fat as frick sitting on the sidelines as my shoulders healed despite rigorous PT. I’d post a pic but can’t seem to copy the URL code. and I’ve got 2 cool arse scars.

life changing procedure, glad I did it but would never do both within 6 months of each other again. that’s too damn soon.
