Myofacial pain sub scapula
Posted by dallastiger55 on 7/7/20 at 9:13 am20
I’ve had bad pain in my upper chest and back for a while and got my pec minor operated on and released in December.
That helped but now my shoulder blade and lat always hurt. I’m doing PT to try to strengthen my back because apparently it’s very weak and my posture sucks and I’m very round shouldered
Anyone ever experience this? The pain is awful and I get headaches and anxiety from it being so tight.

Outside if myofascial release techniques and dry needling I would suggest eating a ketogenic diet to reduce inflammation.

Well man, back exercises with proper posture will help correct the muscle imbalance you seem to have. At least that is my novice guess. Make sure you keep your shoulders in the proper place or you won't help the problem.

I really recommend getting Crossover Symmetry; it'll really change your imbalances and help fix the postural issues.
You can do some mobility work/SMR for temporary relief, but your imbalances/weaknesses are likely resulting in a cascade of overly stressed support muscles.

MFR is a good science without evidence, dry needling as well.
Talk to your PT about this considering you’re already seeing one. And be diligent in the exercises they give you. If it continues, inform your surgeon and ask if it’s normal.
