Never got used to it and unless I was required to do morning workouts like when I ran track & CC, I never workout in the morning. My body works way better at night.....most of my best races were run at night.....maybe only 1 morning race did I ever run a great race.

i've been a morning guy for about 6 years now. i don't like it, and i set multiple alarms to try and get up before 5:30. i used to be a 4 AM kinda guy, but that ship has sailed.

i notice a significant drop in weight if i don't get good sleep or am too sluggish in the mornings, despite pre-workout.

for me, lunch isn't really an option and i'm not taking away family time for a 1.5 hour gym session in the night. i usually feel great right afterwards, but i'll never get used to getting up before 6.

If not for having 3 young kids, I'd rather sleep in and workout in the afternoon.

I believe the human body is most efficient in the afternoon, as the calories consumed throughout the day fuels the workouts. Also, there's more oxygen flowing throughout the muscles later in the day then early in the morning.

if not for kids, i'd probably run every morning and hit the gym after work for 1.5 -2 hours every single day.

as it is now, i get 1-1.5 hour workouts/runs in 4-5 times a week before 7 AM.

i do wake up at 5:30 on Saturdays to do a 2 hour trail run, but i'm usually back before anybody's awake most days.

family life. what are you going to do?

I need to do that and just get up everyday early and get it done. How do y'all handle off days? Sleep in? Does that mess you up?

I have been doing mornings for about 6 years now.

1. Alarms. Set them. Get up. Go. It sucks.

2. off days I sleep in, but that now constitutes 6:30 or 7.

3. Doesnt mess me up. I stil lhate waking at 5 for the gym.

i'm usually hungover on sundays and don't have to go to church till 9:30 if that counts.

I "sleep in" (to 6 am ) on Tuesday and Thursday because I meet my wife after work to work out with her

it doesn't really mess me up, in fact, its just as hard to wake up at 6 am as it is to wake up at 4:45 am MWF to me

on the weekends I can't sleep past 7
