Mobility

Hey guys, looking for recommendations on increasing flexibility/mobility across the entire spectrum. I've struggled my whole life with pulled muscles, back spasms and other various injuries that I believe is mostly related to lack of mobility. Most recently, I've battled thoracic outlet for about 3 months, and I think this is the last straw. Before TO, I was hitting hot yoga 1-2 times per week and doing some pretty deep stretching for 20-30 minutes prior to my workouts. I was on a roll for about 7 or 8 months until my issues prevented me from doing yoga and severely hindered me at the gym. I'm to the point where I am considering not even lifting weights anymore and just doing yoga or dynamic stretching until I make the progress that I feel I need. If anyone has a good program or really anything useful let me know!

Have you tried something more on the mobility side of things like Defranco's Agile 8 (TNation Link)?

Get you some elastic bands and work on strengthening your hips and stabilizers; will help a lot with mobility. Some great accounts on Instagram have a ton of stuff you can do.

Are there particular areas of the body you're prone to injuries in?

I do the Agile 8 before every lift, along with my own few mobility exercises. Takes about 15 minutes and has made a noticeable difference. Less in pure flexibility, but more in no longer having aches after working out.

Take a look into Functional Anatomy Systems and especially controlled articular rotations
